𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗘 COMMUNITY 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗜 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗢 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦! ✨🏆

The CASE Community proudly congratulates the first year students of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education for once again bringing pride and honor to the department during the 15th Gabi ng Karapatang Pantao spearheaded by the Center for Community Involvement of University of Santo Tomas - Legazpi.

Through powerful storytelling and meaningful filmmaking, the students showcased short films representing different sectors of society and the realities continuously experienced in the Philippines today.

For the second consecutive time, blocks from the CASE Department dominated the awards ceremony:

🏆 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 (Unang Pwesto sa Pinaka Mahusay sa Paggawa ng Maikling Pelikula)

"Pagtalingkas"
by: Sipat Sikolohiya Productions (1PSYCH)

1PSYCH earned the top distinction for their compelling portrayal of the “Guro” or Teachers sector through their short film titled "Pagtalingkas".

The production was led by Overall Project Head Marian Ysabel Yap and Assistant Project Head Maxene Roux Macasinag, and was directed by Showby Danielle Baytec with Assistant Director Christine Joy Lactao.

The film was brought to life by its cast, featuring Jamill Maureen Marfil as Maria Gonzales, Kate Ashley Banzuela as Stephanie Villegas, Roselyn Buban as Angela Flores, and Chloe Lizbeth Aragon as Mrs. Gonzales.

It was written by Chloe Lizbeth Aragon, Isaiah Aviado, Siegfred James Balota, Lorain Banta, Dynah Melisse Marcos, and Isalea Riva Medina

🥈Second-Place — Best Short Film (Pangalawang Pwesto sa Pinaka Mahusay sa Paggawa ng Maikling Pelikula)

"Hiling"
by 1 CASE

1CASE, representing the “Matatanda” or Senior Citizens sector, captivated the audience and judges through the heartfelt film based on a true story titled "Hiling".

Directed by Jhea Jazmin, with Aizel Genova serving as editor and Jirah Jacob as Cinematographer with scripts and story written by Marielle Duero, Anna Francisco, and Jhezelle Velasco.

The film was brought to life by its lead actors Raiza Barrameda and Jhon Carlo Rivas, delivering a heartfelt portrayal of their respective roles.

🖼️ In a separate recognition, 1CASE also secured the 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 (Best Poster award), further showcasing the group’s creativity and excellence in visual storytelling beyond their film entry.

👏 Special congratulations as well to Jamil Maureen Marfil of 1PSYCH for being awarded 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀) in the overall event.

This victory continues the legacy established by our previous CASE representatives during the 2023 Gabi ng Karapatang Pantao, where 1CASE2 secured the Best Short Film title and 1CASE1 claimed the 1st Runner-Up distinction.

Your passion, creativity, and commitment in amplifying the voices of different sectors in society embody the Thomasian spirit of compassion, excellence, and social awareness.

At sa pagtatapos ng gabing ito, mas lalong pinatunayan ng mga estudyante ng CASE na ang pagkahilig sa sining, pagsusulat ng makabuluhang kwento, at pagiging boses para sa mga adbokasiya ng lipunan ay patuloy na nabubuhay at umuusbong sa bawat Tomasinong handang magsalita para sa bayan.

A milestone moment for Political Science students of the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 - 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗽𝗶 as they celebrated their very first Political Science Day at De Guzman Hall, Peñaranda Campus, organized by the 𝗨𝗦𝗧-𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗽𝗶 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆.The event fostered stronger camaraderie and shared a sense of identity among students in the program.

With the theme “𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝,” the celebration opened with an energetic chant-making and banner presentation, where each group proudly expressed their Political Science spirit through creativity and teamwork. The atmosphere was further filled with warmth as students shared snacks for the pantry, highlighting generosity and collective unity.

The highlight of the event, 𝑷𝑶𝑳𝒀𝑺𝑨𝒀𝑨𝑯𝑨𝑵, featured a series of engaging and dynamic activities that tested not only teamwork and unity, but also leadership, communication, strategy, and resilience among participants. These challenges brought out the best in each group, encouraging collaboration and friendly competition.
The event concluded with an awarding ceremony that recognized the outstanding performances of each team, with Group 2 as the 3rd Runner-Up, Group 4 as the 2nd Runner-Up, Group 3 as the 1st Runner-Up, and Group 1 emerging as this year’s Champion.

For exemplifying exceptional leadership and unity, Donna Grace R. Follero of Group 1 was awarded 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿.

In addition, the election of new Political Science Officers for Academic Year 2026 - 2027 was successfully conducted. Positions from President to Business Managers have been filled, with the selection of level representatives currently ongoing in each class.

Indeed, 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, but a strong foundation for future traditions, bringing the Political Science program louder and united than ever!
