PADABA TAKA: BROADCASTING WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS & CULMINATING ACTIVITY

From the first story to the first broadcast, PADABA TAKA turned learning into action!

Here's a look back at the highlights of the Broadcasting Workshop held on August 6, 2026, the culminating activity of a meaningful series of campus journalism and broadcasting trainings conducted on July 16,23,30 and August 6, 2026 at Arimbay High School, Legazpi City.

For the first time, our young campus journalists stepped into the world of broadcasting- learning the fundamentals of radio, honing their voices, building confidence, and discovering that journalism goes beyond the written page.

This milestone is part of the long-running PADABA TAKA Adopt-a-School Program: A Media Training Needs Intervention in Arimbay, Legazpi City, spearheaded by the Bicol University College of Arts and Letters (BUCAL) - Journalism and Broadcasting Departments.

In broadcast, great ideas become powerful when carefully planned and executed. During the session on the mechanics and process of producing radio infomercials, Prof. Sharon Kay C. Julaton taught the students of Arimbay High School the essential steps in crafting persuasive scripts, organizing production elements, and delivering messages with impact for infomercials. It was emphasized that every successful radio infomercial begins with creativity, strategy, and a well-told story.

Before a message can persuade, it must inform first. Students from Arimbay High School were introduced to the fundamentals of radio infomercials, exploring definition, purpose and key characteristics. Prof. Marion Abigail N. Valencia highlighted how an effective infomercial goes beyond promotion - it should be clear, credible and communicated with purpose while engaging listeners through compelling storytelling.

Every broadcaster begins with a voice that informs, connects and inspires. During the Radio Broadcasting training, students from Arimbay High School learned the fundamentals of voice modulation and proper delivery. Dr. Agnes J. Nepomuceno underscored how proper pacing, tone, pronunciation, and vocal expression can bring news and stories to life.

July 30, 2026

Four radio broadcasting teams from Arimbay High School attend a lecture on basic principles of radio newswriting during the Padaba Taka session of BUCAL on July 30. Prof. Anacito Dematera, chair of the Broadcasting Department, highlighted pointers on writing brief but concise scripts for a 5-minute news delivery.
The concept of the training is aligned with the guidelines of the Department of Education's schools press conference.
