Former Sen. Benigno โ€œNinoyโ€ Aquino Jr. was one of the strongest voices against the Marcos dictatorship, and he became known for speaking out against a government that silenced many. He remains to stand by his beliefs and fight for democracy even at the risk of his own life.

Today, we remember ๐—ก๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜† ๐—”๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† not simply as another date in our history, but to remember a man who chose to speak when many were forced into silence, and whose voice became part of the story of how Filipinos fought for democracy.

The Communication Studentsโ€™ Association (CSA) joins the nation in honoring Ninoy Aquino and his legacy. As communication students, we know how powerful words can be. We have the chance to use our voices to tell the truth, start conversations, and speak up when something is not right. May we never be afraid to use that voice when it matters.

Freedom is something we cannot afford to take for granted. It was not simply given to us. People fought, suffered, and sacrificed for it. Now that we have the freedom that we deserve, it is our responsibility to value it, protect it, and never be afraid to stand up when something is not right.

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž: The Communication Students' Association held its 1st General Assembly last August 12, 2026 at the BUCAL Amphitheater, Aquilino Building. The CSA officers delivered a comprehensive report on the organizationโ€™s achievements over the past academic year, along with the financial and audit reports as part of their commitments. As well as the discussion of CSA's plans and upcoming events lined up delivered by Mx. Sofia Sandrino, CSA President. The program ended with the signing of the amended Constitution and By Laws of the Communication Studentsโ€™s Association headed by its officers.

After the 1st General Assembly, CSA held its most awaited event for its freshie COMMquerors, the freshie orientation. There, the faculty members were present, including Dr. Adrian Aguilar, BUCAL Dean, and Prof. Martha Joy Ruivivar, the Department Chair and CSA Adviser. They shared insights and talked about BA Communication, what they should know, and what to expect in the program. Future projects and initiatives of the department, as well as the College Student Council, were discussed in the orientation, giving the freshmen ideas on what to expect in this Academic Year. Wrapping up the event, the annual a letter-to-self and COMMemory box was conducted to preserve their memories as freshies, commquerors, and iskolar ng bayans.
