𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻!

To enhance, equip and reinforce the knowledge and skills of faculty members, students, and extension coordinators/practitioners on the different processes, tools, and strategies in the delivery of extension services, Bicol University - Extension Management Division (BUEMD) through Social Preparation and Community Engagement Department (SPCED) brings back the Webinar Series in Extension with the theme “Engaging Communities Through Informed Action” via Zoom meeting conference.

To kick off the webinar series, join us on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. onwards as Dr. Marcia Corazon P. Rico, Director of BUEMD, and Prof. Tania L. Añonuevo Faculty member of BUCSSP discuss the Reorientation on the basic concepts of Extension and Introduction to Community Organizing for Extension and/or Development Work respectively.

𝗟𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿

Dr. Hennie P. Lomibao was named by Bicol University as the recipient of the 2024 Most Outstanding Extension Implementer during the RDE Awards Night on January 15, 2025, at Hotel St. Ellis Legazpi City.

The awards ceremony also acknowledged Rosemarie R. Jadie, Demetrio E. Castillo, both from BU Gubat and Alfonso M. Peñol, Jr. from College of Industrial Technology as the outstanding extension practitioners.

The awards were given to extension practitioners who made outstanding contributions through their extension innitiatives, significantly improving the quality of life in the specific community where their project is implemented.

Lomibao, together with her project members was recognized through her wellness center for children with determination, which is an advocacy center devoted to serving the needs of special children with autism, intellectually disabled and have other forms of marginalization.
She was also part of the Project RIPPLES, which gave birth to Project Pagmamalasakit which addressed critical issues such as mental health and educational equity.

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement — securing 2nd Place for Best Extension Implementing College during the prestigious Research and Development and Extension Awards of Bicol University! This recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment, resilience, and heart of the entire BU College of Nursing family in making a difference beyond the walls of the university. 🌟💚

This achievement was made possible with the support of the College Dean, Dr. Jean Annette S. Ibo and the Assoc. Dean, Fatima Calingacion, MAN, as well as the BUCN Faculty who work tirelessly to participate in the impactful programs that the Extension Committee have diligently implemented. From HIV Awareness seminars that empower communities with knowledge to tree planting initiatives that nurture our environment, to feeding programs that provide hope and nourishment, and disaster relief operations that bring light to those in dire need — your efforts embody the true essence of service. 🌳🍽️🚑
