LEMERY, Iloilo — Northern Iloilo State University in Lemery, through the ABYAN Peer Facilitator Organization and the Guidance Office, resumed its two-day Student Wellness Symposium with the theme “Thriving at NISU” on September 25, 2026. The program sustained its focus on promoting mentalhealth, personal growth, and holistic development among students across all year levels.

Day 2 featured Dr. Marie Rosette L. Cainday, RGC, as the resource speaker. She facilitated interactive workshops and reflective activities that emphasized coping strategies, self-care practices, and building resilience to help students navigate academic challenges.

The initiative was made successful through the active and dedicated ABYAN President, Ms. Elaiza Gareza. The symposium was faithfully ledby Dr. Reishan P. Teruel, ABYAN Advisor and University's Designated Guidance Counselor.

The continuation of the wellness program reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering psychological resilience and holistic student development

September 24, 2026 | Northern Iloilo State University Lemery Campus proudly joined the celebration of two significant milestones, the 𝟕𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐣𝐮𝐲 and the 𝟓𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Together with University President Dr. Raffy B. Chavez, Campus Administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and valued stakeholders, we gathered to honor the rich history, remarkable achievements, and continuing journey of Northern Iloilo State University toward academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful service.

Representing the NISU in Lemery, Dr. Ruby S. Yotoko, Campus Administrator, participated in the celebration of the 78th Anniversary of NISU in Ajuy, held at the NISU in Ajuy Covered Court, with the theme “Breaking Barriers, Celebrating Milestones of Legacy, Excellence, and Innovation.”

The Lemery Campus likewise extends its warmest congratulations to NISU in Concepcion on its 59th Founding Anniversary, carrying the theme “Legacy in Motion: Innovating Today, Sustaining Tomorrow.” These celebrations serve as a meaningful tribute to the University’s enduring legacy and the collective efforts of its administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders in advancing education, innovation, inclusion, community engagement, and sustainable development.

Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to Dr. Joey S. Dela Cruz and Ms. Glaiza B. Alerta for the warm invitations, gracious welcome, and thoughtful hospitality extended to the NISU Lemery Campus. Your efforts made these celebrations even more memorable and meaningful as we came together to celebrate the accomplishments and continuing journey of NISU.

Thriving at NISU: Student Wellness Symposium Fosters Mental Health and Resilience Across All Year Levels

On September 24, 2026, Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) – Lemery Campus, through the ABYAN Peer Facilitator Organization and the Guidance Office, held a two-day Student Wellness Symposium titled “Thriving at NISU.” The event aimed to promote mental health, personal growth, and holistic development among the student body.

The symposium gathered students from first year to fourth year, addressing the unique psychological and emotional challenges encountered at each stage of their academic journey.

The program opened with inspiring messages from key university officials, including Sir Rodel P. Sepanton, OSAS Campus Director, and Dr. Ruby S. Yotoko, Campus Administrator, who encouraged students to “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy.” Before the first session began, the resource speaker, Teresa S. Hortillo, M.Ed., RGC, was formally introduced by Ms. Elaiza Gareza, ABYAN President. The event was faithfully led by Dr. Reishan P. Teruel, ABYAN Advisor and Guidance Designee.

Throughout the symposium, students actively engaged in reflective activities and interactive workshops facilitated by the speaker. These sessions provided valuable insights on coping strategies, self-care practices, and building psychological resilience to help students navigate their academic life at NISU.

A significant step toward achieving their educational aspirations unfolds today as student applicants of the 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐠 𝐈𝐬𝐤𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) in Lemery take the Qualifying Examination.

With focus, determination, and a strong desire to pursue their studies, the examinees gather for an important assessment that serves as part of the selection process for the program. Each student enters the examination room carrying not only the knowledge they have gained through their academic journey but also their hopes, aspirations, and dreams for a better future.

The qualifying examination is more than a test of knowledge and preparation. It is an opportunity for these aspiring scholars to demonstrate their readiness, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing higher education.
