The LYFP Tambayan Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony was successfully held earlier at 4:00 PM, officially marking the completion and opening of a project that started from a simple idea and turned into a shared goal of the LYFP Officers and the Ka-Isda community.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Dean of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Dr. Fabio C. Ruaza Jr., together with Maโam Kris Angeli S. Delos Reyes, Department Head of the Department of Marine and Environmental Sciences; Sir Jaynos Cortes, pioneering Chairperson of the Department of Fisheries Science and LYFP Adviser; Sir Kirk Uy, Program Chair of Environmental Science; along with members of the faculty and the LYFP Officers.
During the ceremony, Dr. Fabio C. Ruaza Jr. shared a short message expressing his appreciation for the initiative and the efforts behind the establishment of the LYFP Tambayan. He emphasized the value of students taking the initiative to create projects that contribute to a better and more meaningful campus experience.
The outgoing LYFP Mayor, John Lloyd Penionez, also delivered his message, expressing his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, supported, and became part of the journey toward completing the project. He reflected on the challenges encountered along the way, and highlighted how the project was made possible through the collective effort and determination of the people who continued to show up.
What began as a simple idea eventually became a tangible space for the Fisheries community, a place where students can rest, connect, share ideas, and create memories together.
The LYFP Tambayan may be a small beginning, but it stands as a reminder of what can be achieved through initiative, perseverance, teamwork, and a shared vision.
Congratulations to everyone who made this possible, and thank you to our Ka-Isda community for being part of this journey.
The LYFP Tambayan is officially open!
