The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management - Pangasinan State University (CTHM) brought together students, faculty, and accredited organizations for a memorable General Assembly and Orientation on November 6, 2024, at the Golden Lion Hotel, Aseana Hall. The event was a vibrant showcase of unity, collaboration, and pride, celebrating the achievements and aspirations within the CTHM community.
Led by the Future Restaurateur and Hotelier Club, the event opened with welcoming remarks and activities that fostered camaraderie and insight-sharing among attendees. Faculty members received recognition for their dedication and joined in a Family Feud game, while the students enjoyed watching and cheering for each team.
Dr. Mondey May Fernandez shared valuable information on course specifications, while Dr. Jerry Ceballos Jr. and Mr. Senando M. Evangelista emphasized the importance of proper grooming, dress codes, and the college’s no-plastic policies. A power dressing ramp, modeled by CTHM students, served as an inspiring example of professionalism and confidence.
The event also celebrated the hard work of various CTHM organizations and welcomed the new sets/elected officers of each accredited organizations, including the Tourism Apprentices' Leadership Alliance, and D' Stewards : Hospitality Student Ambassadors.
Aside from the recognition of newly elected officers, the Culinary Warriors, under the leadership of Mr. Benjie Payoyo and supported by our dedicated adviser Dr. Genelyn Castro-Tersona and Dr. Leoncio F. Barlan Jr. (Chef Junjun Barlan), last Academic Year 2023 -2024 was honored with a certificate of recognition during the General Assembly and Orientation. This achievement reflects their commitment to excellence, passion and teamwork throughout their administration.
As the event came to a close, students and faculty joined together for a unity dance, moving to the popular Filipino song “Karera” by BINI, bringing energy and joy to an unforgettable day. It was a day of celebrating achievements and looking toward a bright future, inspiring CTHM students to continue excelling in the tourism and hospitality industry.
