The 3-day Seminar-Workshop on Basic Records and Archives Management (BRAM) concluded today, November 28, 2025, on a high note of accomplishment and renewed commitment. Under the theme โENHANCING RECORDS EFFICIENCY,โ the final day was packed with insightful dialogues, strategic planning, and well-deserved recognition.
๐ค Strengthening Collaboration: A Dialogue with PARC
A key highlight was the engaging dialogue initiated by our Director, Dr. Julius C. Mamaril, with the Provincial Archives and Records Center (PARC). He sought to explore potential collaborations, specifically inquiring if PSU could utilize PARC's storage facilities or cloud-based services.
In response, PARC clarified that they currently only serve the internal departments and units of the Provincial Government due to limited storage capacity and do not offer cloud-based solutions. Regarding standardized systems, PARC utilizes a LOGO-licensed records system, noting that neither NAP nor DICT has yet provided a mandatory standardized records and archiving system for government agencies. This open discussion was invaluable for understanding the local records management landscape.
๐ Presenting the PSU Roadmap to Excellence
The culmination of three days of intensive learning was the presentation and submission of the PSU Action Plan for the Implementation of R.A. 9470. This comprehensive plan, crafted based on the expertise gained from the seminar, outlines our university-wide strategy for records inventory, digitization, secure disposal, and capacity buildingโa concrete step towards achieving records management excellence.
๐ Celebrating Excellence and Dedication
The ceremony culminated in an awarding session to honor the participants' dedication and active engagement. Congratulations to all the awardees for:
โข Best Presented Action Plan
โข Best Agency & Individual Active Participants
โข Early Birds at the Seminar Venue
And finally, the distribution of Certificates of Completion to all participants for successfully finishing the 3-day BRAM training.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the Provincial Records Officer and a joyous photo session.
๐ A Heartfelt Thank You!
The PSU Records Management Office extends its deepest gratitude to:
โข The National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) for sending their expert archivists and facilitators.
โข The Provincial Government of Pangasinan and PARC for hosting this pivotal training.
โข Our University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, for his unwavering support in allowing our Records Officers and staff to participate.
โข All the Records Officers from PSU-Main and the nine campuses for their active participation and commitment to learning.
The knowledge ends here, but the work begins. Letโs start working together to enhance PSU's records efficiency!
