As a significant milestone for Batangas State University โ€“ The National Engineering University, Project MUFAI is the first extension project of the University to undergo a formal impact assessment. The assessment provides an opportunity to document and understand the projectโ€™s contributions to the Mountview Upland Farmers Association, Inc. (MUFAI), while strengthening the Universityโ€™s culture of evidence-based extension.

Under the guidance of ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ฌ ๐†. ๐๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ณ๐จ๐ง, the Vice Chancellor for Research, Development and Extension Services, the Extension Services Office (ESO) โ€“ Lipa Campus, headed by ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ž๐ฑ๐จ๐ง ๐’. ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐๐ž๐ณ, led and coordinated the impact assessment, bringing together evaluators from within and beyond the University to provide an independent and evidence-based assessment of the project.

The Impact Assessment Evaluation Team was led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‰๐ž๐ง๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐จ-๐‚๐ฎ๐ž๐ญ๐จ of Batangas State University โ€“ Lemery Campus, with ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐€๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐๐žรฑ๐š of Batangas State University โ€“ Rosario Campus and ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐„๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, ๐‰๐ซ of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) serving as members of the evaluation team.

The team conducted its first field visit on June 17โ€“18, 2026 in Barangay Nasi, Rosario, Batangas, where it conducted site observation, interviews, surveys, and a Focus Group Discussion with beneficiaries, complemented by a review of relevant project and organizational documents. On September 23โ€“24, 2026, the team returned to the project site for follow-up interviews and field validation, gathering further insights from project officers, members, participants, project staff, and faculty extensionists on the projectโ€™s implementation, outcomes, partnerships, challenges, and sustainability.

Through these field activities, the assessment continues to build evidence on Project MUFAIโ€™s implementation, outcomes, stakeholder participation, and contributions to the communityโ€”providing valuable insights for reflection, accountability, and the continuous strengthening of the Universityโ€™s extension initiatives.
