The Society of Engineering Technology Students, together with the College of Engineering Technology and the Association of Computer Engineering Technology Students, proudly successfully hosted Gear Up 2.0: The College of Engineering Technology Reorientation and Recognition Day 2026 last February 13, Friday.

The afternoon session at Room 401, Valerio Malabanan Building, was more than just a meeting—it was a powerful gathering to realign our goals and honor the exceptional grit of our fellow Spartans. From the in-person energy at the venue to the engagement across our Facebook Live stream, Gear Up 2.0 proved that the spirit of excellence in the College of Engineering Technology is stronger than ever.

As we reoriented our vision and celebrated our top achievers, we’ve officially set the pace for a semester of innovation and camaraderie.

Your guidance has been vital in strengthening the academic programs of our campus, ensuring that students and organizations alike are supported by clear standards of excellence and integrity. Our Parol shines with the Star of Hope and the Moon of Warmth, celebrating unity, family, and the joy of Filipino Christmas traditions—from Noche Buena to Simbang Gabi. Crafted from recycled materials, it proves that beauty can rise from simplicity and second chances. ✨

ENTRY NO. 2: SOCIETY OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

Mula sa bagay na tinapon, sumibol ang liwanag ng bagong pag-asa. Our Parol is a tribute to Filipino Christmas, a celebration of light, unity, hope, and family, at its center shines the Star of Hope: an eight-pointed star symbolizing spiritual guidance, inspired by the biblical star that led the three kings to Jesus. At its heart is a miniature Noche Buena scene that captures the joy of Filipino traditions, from p**o bumbong and lechon to exchanging gifts. Surrounding the star is the Moon of Warmth, a crescent moon embodying gentleness and the peaceful nights of simbang gabi, caroling, and family gatherings. Every part of this Parol is crafted from recycled materials—newspapers, magazines, straws, paper plates, and used CDs, proving that beauty and meaning can rise from simplicity and second chances. Sa bawat pirasong pinagdikit, nakabuo kami ng alaala; sa bawat liwanag na kumislap, muling nabuhay ang pag-asa.
