Unity Statement of the Student Organizations of PNU South Luzon on the Fight Against Systemic Corruption

We, the students of Philippine Normal University South Luzon, through the Student Government, showing support with PNU Manila Faculty Union and PNU South Luzon Faculty Association in the fight against systemic corruption. As future educators and education leaders, we realize that corruption does not only drain public funds. It robs our nation of dignity, opportunity, and a brighter future.

Education is the foundation of national progress, yet corruption in government projects continuously deprives schools and communities resources that should have been invested in classrooms, teachers, students, facilities, and programs. We demand for full transparency and accountability in the allocation and utilization of public funds, especially those intended for education. These budgets must be allotted to what the society needs and not for political interests, misuse, and ghost projects.

Government officials should work responsibly in their high paid jobs and investigate the ghost projects and give justice that the Filipino deserves. As students, we pledge to uphold transparency and integrity in our own actions and to remain vigilant against systemic corruption. When injustice occurs, we will not remain silent. We will act in the name of truth, excellence, and service for education, for justice, and for a better Philippines.
