We are pleased to welcome Dr. Mario G. Andrada of the National Food Authority (NFA) as the keynote speaker at iCEAT 2026!

Dr. Andrada is the Department Manager of the Corporate Planning and Management Services Department of the NFA. He earned his PhD in Grain Science and MS in Agronomy from Kansas State University, USA, and a BS in Agronomy from De La Salle–Araneta University. He was also a Fulbright-Philippines Agriculture Scholar.

Throughout his career, Dr. Andrada has led research on hybrid rice, milled rice recovery, stored-product pest management, and wet-milled corn products and by-products. He has contributed to international conference proceedings and delivered numerous invited talks and research presentations. His recognitions include the U.S. Borlaug Fellowship–Global Food Security Award, NFA Outstanding Employee awards, and research and presentation awards from the Bureau of Agricultural Research. He has also contributed to the development of standards for paddy and milled rice and currently serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Sub-Committee for Cereals, Pulses, and Legumes under Philippine CODEX.

This milestone strengthens AFBED’s commitment to interdisciplinary innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaborative research. We welcome 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, and 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 interested in exploring meaningful and high-impact research collaborations with our groups.

Through the Collective Mentorship Program, AFBED looks forward to fostering knowledge sharing, strengthening research networks, and developing collaborations that respond to real-world challenges in agricultural, food, and bioprocess engineering.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sergio C. Capareda of Texas A&M University as one of the distinguished speakers at iCEAT 2026.

Dr. Capareda is a Professor and holder of the Endowed Calvin B. Parnell Faculty Fellowship at Texas A&M University and a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from UPLB, Master of Engineering in Energy Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology, and PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Appointed to the Texas A&M faculty in 2005, Dr. Capareda developed and established the BioEnergy Testing and Analysis Laboratory. He has authored or co-authored more than 138 refereed journal publications, four book chapters, and two textbooks on biomass conversions and renewable energy, and holds two patents related to biofuel production and biomass pyrolysis and gasification systems. He is also an active member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
