🌈 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒔 🌈

As part of Pride Month, the UPLB Department of Civil Engineering hosted the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 as part of the CEAT Pre-Internship Seminar series.

The seminar featured Genesis Giselle Talatala-Baseleres from UPLB Gender Center, who discussed Gender Sensitivity in the Workplace, and Dr. Ana Katrina Palma-de Jesus from UPLB Office of Anti-Sexual Harassment, who delivered a talk on Anti-Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. Together, they highlighted the importance of fostering inclusive, respectful, and safe professional environments.

As future engineers prepare to enter the workforce, understanding gender sensitivity and workplace policies against sexual harassment is essential in creating spaces where everyone—regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation—is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

Three faculty members from the UPLB Department of Civil Engineering presented their research during the Technical Sessions of the Engineering Forum and the 2026 PICE Midyear National Convention and Technical Conference held last May 21–23, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City 👷‍♂️🏗️

Meanwhile, one faculty member from the department served as a Resource Speaker during the Forum session themed “Defined by Specialization: Advancing Civil Engineering Toward a Sustainable Future.”

Through both technical presentations and expert sharing, the faculty showcased UPLB DCE’s continued commitment to innovation, specialization, and sustainable engineering practices aligned with the convention theme:
