For years, 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐂 has been dedicated to serving people beyond the university gates, reaching toward communities where growth is not merely measured in numbers, but in lives touched, partnerships strengthened, and futures built together.
Last April 25, we once again journeyed to 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲, 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥 for the 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 . Returning to this community, we stood in solidarity and spent a day immersed in meaningful engagement with the 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 of the 𝟓𝐊 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. Through farm visits, community interactions, and support for local initiatives, this experience transcended the traditional definition of "service." It was a day centered on building genuine connections and a shared commitment to sustainable livelihood and community empowerment.
Made possible through 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐋𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 and in partnership with 𝐒𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐙𝐀, this year’s initiative continues to champion a vision that goes beyond immediate aid. We are proud to provide financial support for the continuous establishment of their 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐮𝐛—a space designed for the farmers that serves not only agricultural practices but also the strengthening of essential skills in communication, technology, and enterprise. More than a structure, it represents a future where knowledge is shared, capacities are built, and opportunities are expanded.
During the program, our resident members conducted a 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠, highlighting the importance of financial management and introducing practical tools such as 𝐆𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 and basic banking systems to support their growing enterprise. In turn, the community welcomed us into their daily lives, teaching us the craft of making 𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙥𝙖𝙠. This exchange served as a vital reminder that true knowledge always flows both ways.
From guided farm tours to immersing ourselves in their livelihood through firsthand experience, every moment reflected a deeper truth: 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.
What began as an outreach once again blossomed into a day of connection—of stories shared, knowledge exchanged, and trust continuously nurtured. At its core, this initiative is about more than a project; it is about 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲. It is about standing alongside our partners as they grow, adapt, and thrive. As we look back on these moments, we are reminded that development is not just about providing—it is about empowering, listening, and growing together.
