UPLB College of Human Ecology The College of Human Ecology is one of the eleven degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

The College of Human Ecology (CHE) advocates and uses interdisciplinary, holistic, and integrative approaches to understand human-environment interactions. It envisions the development of human-centered, self-reliant, and ecologically stable communities by addressing basic human needs, resource utilization and management, environmental stability, and delivery of social services at the family and c

ommunity levels in the Philippines and in Asia. Its mission is to advance the body of knowledge in human ecology to improve operational capabilities and to strengthen functional commitment in human nutrition and food, human and family development, community and environmental resource planning, and social development services. In essence, CHE develops programs for research, training, and community service towards a desirable quality of life. CHE consists of three departments and an institute, namely: Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning (DCERP), Department of Human and Family Development Studies (DHFDS), Department of Social Development Services (DSDS), and Institute of Human Nutrition and Food (IHNF). UPLB College of Human Ecology faculty members and researchers participated in the 2nd Science and Technology IMPACT Conference ‘Evaluating what works in STI-led pathways to development,’ on 25-26 May 2026, at the Acacia Hotel Manila.

CHE Dean Jennifer Marie Amparo, together with co-authors and co-producers, presented an insight paper entitled “From Consultation to Co-production: Tracing Inclusive Pathways in Nature-based Livelihoods Across DOST-PCAARRD Projects in the Philippines” based on their R&D work in co-production supported by DOST-PCAARRD. The project leads were Prof. Jennifer Marie Amparo (CP4SL) and Prof. Dhino Geges (CP4AANR).

The research on “Advancing Quality of Life: Development of Social Impact Assessment Tool for Island Economy Convergence Initiative in the Polillo Islands, Quezon” led by Dr. Rita Ang-Bon was also presented. The poster was presented by Christian James Nicolasora (former research assistant and now Teaching Associate of the College of Agriculture and Food Science).

APPLICATIONS FOR T1 (Transfer from other UP CU) FOR FIRST SEMESTER 2026-2027

📌Qualifications:
☑️ at least 30 units earned
☑️ 2.75 GWA

📌Criteria for Selection/Ranking:
In view of the limited slots available for T1 applicants of the BS Human Ecology and BS Nutrition programs, qualified applicants shall be ranked based on the following:
☑️General Weighted Average (GWA)
☑️Assessed potential to complete the program within the expected 3–4 year timeframe

📌Requirements:
☑️ Accomplished Application Form (OUR Form 2021-1B) (https://our.uplb.edu.ph/)
☑️ Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG) from student’s home unit (all semesters enrolled)
☑️Certification of GWA in current program
☑️ Certificate of No Contract
☑️ Certificate of Good Moral Character
☑️ Certificate on Non-Enrollment (if student has a semester with Leave of Absence or Absence Without Leave)
