6th EQR successfully concluded!

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) officially concluded its 6th External Quality Review for the Diploma in Research and Development Management (DR&DM) and Master of International Health (MIH) programs.

The three-day review culminated in the presentation of preliminary findings by the External Reviewers, providing the programs with valuable insights that can contribute to their continuing quality enhancement efforts.

With the completion of this recent EQR, a total of eleven (11) UPOU degree programs have now been reviewed using the AUN-QA Framework.

Last Batch of EQR for 2026 officially started!

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), through the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), officially kicked off its 6th External Quality Review (EQR) through an opening ceremony for the review of the Diploma in Research and Development Management (DR&DM) and Master of International Health (MIH) programs.

The three-day EQR will feature a series of activities designed to provide the External Reviewers with a comprehensive understanding of the programs. The first two days will include interviews with various stakeholders, including academic staff, support staff, students, alumni, and employers, as well as physical and virtual facilities visits.

The 5th External Quality Review of UPOU Concludes Today!

The three-day 5th External Quality Review, which focused on the Master of ASEAN Studies (MAS) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs, concludes today with the Closing Ceremony.

During the ceremony, the external quality reviewers presented their preliminary findings, highlighting the programs' strengths and identifying opportunities for further enhancement. These valuable insights will support UPOU's continuing efforts to strengthen academic quality and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

UPOU extends its sincere appreciation to the external quality reviewers, faculty, staff, students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders whose active participation contributed to a meaningful and productive review.

The 5th External Quality Review of UPOU Officially Begins!

This EQR, which focuses on the Master of ASEAN Studies (MAS) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs, officially commenced today with the Opening Ceremony, marking the start of a three-day review that will run until 9 July 2026.

Following today's opening will be program briefings and interviews with different stakeholders. The review will continue tomorrow with physical and virtual facilities visits and additional stakeholder interviews, providing the external quality reviewers with a comprehensive view of the University's academic programs, learning environment, and quality assurance practices.

QAlity Time for quality outcomes

The UPOU Quality Assurance Office (QAO) conducted a two-day QAlity Time session to support the External Quality Review (EQR) readiness of the Master of ASEAN Studies and Master of Social Work programs under the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS). The activity brought together program representatives and quality assurance advocates to review requirements, align documentation, and strengthen quality assurance practices in preparation for upcoming assessments.
Through initiatives like this, UPOU continues to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement in its academic programs.

Strengthening quality at UPOU through the ISO Task Force
