This study presents the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces antibioticus SCBA4, a soil bacterium isolated from Surigao del Sur, Philippines. The genome contains several predicted biosynthetic gene clusters associated with the production of secondary metabolites, highlighting the potential of Philippine soil microorganisms as sources of bioactive compounds for pharmaceutical, agricultural, and biotechnological applications.

The conference aimed to serve as a regional platform for advancing integrated and transdisciplinary approaches to sustainable forest-agriculture landscapes in Southeast Asia amid escalating climatic, geopolitical, economic, and social uncertainties.

Assoc. Prof. Rodmyr F. Datoon, PhD, Director of the Agricultural Systems Institute (ASI), represented the College of Agriculture and Food Science, University of the Philippines Los Baños as a panelist in the plenary session on agroecological innovation, farming practices, and digital tools, presented by Prof. Rico C. Ancog, PhD, Deputy Director for Administration of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).
