🤝 The UP Open University held its final GFPS Meeting for the year last 9 December, 2025.
Chancellor Serrano presided over the hybrid meeting at the UPOU Centennial Center for Digital Learning. The meeting highlighted key updates on gender-responsive programs, proposed enhancements to ASH protocols, alignment with the Safe Spaces Act through the PANTAY GEDSI policy, and progress on 2025 GAD accomplishments. The drafted 2026 GAD Plan and Budget was also presented.
The GFPS discussed strengthening coordination, improving reporting mechanisms, and advancing digital approaches to gender advocacy. 💜

Excellence in social work education and practice recognized on the national stage

UPOU–FMDS Dean and Social Work Program Chair, Dr. Finaflor F. Taylan, received dual honors from the National Association for Social Work Education, Inc. (NASWEI) during its 27–28 November 2025 gathering in Iloilo City. Awarded both a Plaque of Recognition and a Certificate of Commendation for her distinguished nomination to the NASWEI Outstanding Social Worker Award, Dr. Taylan was recognized for her sustained leadership, ethical practice, and impactful contributions to advocacy, community empowerment, and social work education. The recognition affirms UPOU’s commitment to advancing social justice and nurturing professionals who lead with integrity and service
