These refereed, open-access journals, published annually by Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) in the Philippines, seek to publish cutting-edge, high-quality research that significantly contributes to the knowledge base in their respective fields.

Siyasig aims to disseminate scientific research that drives technological and scientific progress, particularly in sectors that impact the Southern Tagalog region. 𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧
This paper examines the role of Charles Sanders Peirce’s logical theory in the context of poetry. The art of poetry generates a vivid imaginative consciousness of experience or a particular emotional reaction with language, interpretation, and elements. Thus, the researcher explores the possibility of interpreting poetry by utilizing the theory of abduction as its method of criticism that demonstrates and suggests a pragmatic instrument of literary criticism. The said operation focuses on forming an explanatory hypothesis from the poetic proposition. Applying the operation of abduction in poetry can contribute to a horizon of inference in literary criticism. The logical contribution of abduction adheres to the logical reasoning scheme that involves a hypothetical account from the basis of epistemic justifications— a pragmatic inference from the poetic proposition.

𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗞
Malaki ang papel na ginagampanan ng wika sa kultural na paghubog ng identidad ng isang lipunan. Taglay nito ang pag-iral ng pagiging kakaiba ng bawat isa sa kanyang kapwa. Binigyang pokus ng mananaliksik sa pag-aaral na ito ang paggamit ng salitang “rikit” sa social media. Inilahad ang orihinal na kahulugan at pinagmulan ng salitang “rikit” sa pamamagitan ng lexical semantic descriptions, at itinampok ang kaugnayan nito sa kulturang Lucbanin batay sa kontekstwal na gamit sa social media gaya ng Facebook. Lumabas sa pag-aaral na mas madalas gamitin ang orihinal na kahulugan ng rikit (pampuri) kumpara sa kabaliktaran nito na ginagamit bilang panlalait. Subalit mas kapansin pansin na ang paggamit ng “rikit” bilang panlait ay maiuugnay sa mga nagmula o matagal na nanirahan sa Lucban. Ipinakita rin ng pag-aaral ang implikasyong dala ng kultura sa paghubog ng identidad tulad ng sa kung paano ginagamit sa Facebook ang salitang “rikit” ng mga nagmula sa Lucban. Sa kabuuan, handog ng pag-aaral na ito ang pagbubukas sa kamalayan ng marami na ang mga pag-aaral sa wika at ilang mga nauusong salita ay isang perspektibong dapat ding pagtuunan ng pansin upang makalikha ng ugnayang malinaw sa pakikipagkapwa.

𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧
This research explored the green school practices and go green programs in Quezon Province with an end view of developing a sustainable green school development program. A quantitative research using the descriptive-comparative design, this study included 16 secondary schools, where 112 teacher-coordinators and school head participants purposively accomplished a survey-questionnaire. Weighted mean and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data. Results show that the most common green school practices is Green Healthy Space (gardening) while the least is Resources Sustainability (waste management). A sustainable development pro- gram was proposed to address the reported lack of sustainability of green school programs in the province. The findings of the study can serve as a good basis for DepEd top management for a more localized implementation towards the goal of effecting behavioral change on environment-related matters (increasing recycling, care of neglected areas, promoting green healthy spaces, etc.) within the locality where the schools belong.

For the first time after the reconstitution of the Editorial Boards of the SLSU Journals, the "SIYASIG: The Southern Luzon Journal of Science" and the "TILAMSIK: The Southern Luzon Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities", the Editors in Chief, Associate Editors, and Managing Editors gathered for a virtual meeting on August 8, 2022.

Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto, the Director of the Office of Research Services of SLSU, started the meeting by providing an overview of the institutional journals of SLSU, especially since the Editorial Board has members external from the University. Thereafter, he introduced the newly appointed members for each journal, as follows:

At present, the SLSU ORS is working on having the Open Journal System for the SLSU Journals to expedite the publication process.
