๐ก๐๐ช๐ฆ | CEFI Holds 51st Commencement Exercises for Class of 2026
A total of 513 graduates from 17 academic programs of Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc. (CEFI), including the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), received their degrees during the institution's 51st Commencement Exercises held at the Lucena City Convention Center on May 29.
This year's commencement guest speaker was Dr. Maria Cielo D. Magno, an economist, civil servant, and professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman. She is also known for her advocacy for transparency, accountability, and economic reforms.
In her keynote address, she emphasized, "Use your intelligence not to manipulate but to enlighten. Use your profession not only to earn a living but to improve lives. Use your voice not to spread fear and division but to defend truth, accountability, and justice."
She also expressed her hope that the graduates would become leaders who are not only competent but courageous, not only successful but principled, and not only ambitiousโemphasizing that there is nothing wrong with having ambitionsโbut also compassionate. She concluded her message by congratulating the Class of 2026 and encouraging them to lead with integrity, serve with humility, and live with courage.
Donalyn Mae C. Gulapa, a BS Psychology graduate and Magna Cum Laude awardee, was recognized as the Valedictorian of the Graduating Class of 2026. In her speech, she emphasized that success takes many forms and acknowledged the unique challenges students faced in achieving their goals.
Meanwhile, School President Atty. Deanna Maria Rachel S. Calayan led the awarding of degrees, diplomas, and recognitions to the graduates.
