On April 13, 2026, the second-year nursing students conducted an outreach activity through a simple yet meaningful act of generosity. For three months, each student contributed one peso daily, which made it possible to provide vegetables to nearly 120 beneficiaries at the Sentro Pastoral of the Diocese of Lucena.

The activity began with a Holy Mass presided over by Most Rev. Mel Rey M. Uy, DD, who also facilitated the sharing. During this, the less privileged beneficiaries shared their experiences with the students, fostering empathy and deeper understanding. The students also distributed sardines, noodles, and toys for the children.

This outreach highlighted that small, consistent acts of kindness can create a meaningful impact, reflecting the true spirit of compassion, service, and community.

On April 7, 2026, second-year nursing students conducted a toiletries bundle drive for 210 persons deprived of liberty as part of RE 104: Christian Morality and Catholic Social Teachings. This simple act of giving became a meaningful expression of compassion and solidarity, allowing students to put their faith into action.

The initiative highlighted the importance of human dignity, showing that even basic necessities can uplift and restore a person’s sense of self-worth. It also reminded the students that their role as future nurses goes beyond clinical care—it includes serving with empathy, respect, and a genuine concern for the marginalized.

Ruben’s journey in the Rotaract Club of Maryhill College reflects growth, purpose, and a strong commitment to service. From being a first-year student seeking growth, he found a space where he could learn, lead, and make a difference.

As he expressed in his message:
“I wanted to join a club that would allow me to grow, gain knowledge, and develop skills that would shape me both as a student and as a person.”

“The Rotaract Club has shaped me into a more responsible, compassionate, and service-driven individual.”

Through his experience as a member and as a CBA Representative, he embraced leadership, responsibility, and the true essence of service—balancing his roles while staying committed to the mission of the organization.

Thank you, Ruben Coro I, for your dedication and for embodying the values of leadership and service. Your journey will continue to inspire others. ✨
