🌱 This morning, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the PICE SJC-Maasin SC of the College of Engineering and Architecture came together for a meaningful 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 at 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨, 𝐌𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲. Led by our 𝟒𝐭𝐡-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, the event was filled with teamwork, energy, and a shared purpose of caring for the environment. On November 29, 2025, the Saint Joseph College – Civil Engineering Department proudly held its 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝-𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 and 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 at the Bishop Hacbang Gym, SJC Main Campus.

One of the most inspiring parts of this milestone event came from the powerful words of our distinguished speakers—messages that ignited purpose and illuminated the path ahead for our future engineers.

𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐑. 𝐃𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐋. 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐀, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering & Architecture, reminded the students that their hard hat is more than gear—it is a crown of responsibility. He emphasized that true engineering greatness comes from humility, integrity, and the values they have been shaped with. As they step into the profession, he called them to embody their batch identity, Bidlisiw—to be the light that breaks through the dark clouds of corruption, to act with courage, and to honor the noble calling of an engineer.

𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐑. 𝐋𝐔𝐙𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄 𝐀. 𝐁𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀, SIPP Coordinator, deepened this meaning by reflecting on why the name Bidlisiw was chosen. In a time of infrastructure gaps, climate realities, and outdated systems, she highlighted that this batch symbolizes the “first spark” of innovation and sustainability. She challenged them to become engineers who illuminate inefficiencies and bring forward solutions that uplift communities and reshape the future.

Their words were more than speeches—they were guiding beacons filled with purpose, conviction, and hope.
