๐Ÿ“˜[NEW PUBLICATION]

We congratulate Asst. Prof. Ethelbert G. Galang for the successful publication of his research titled "Bank Officersโ€™ Well-being During the COVID-19 Pandemic and its Implications on Employee Development" in the Philippine Journal of Labor and Industrial Relations, Volume 42 (2025).

Using the WHO-5 Well-being Index, the study examined how factors such as age, s*x, educational attainment, rank, and work assignment shaped the well-being of bank officers during the pandemic. Findings revealed that workplace stressors intensified mental health risks, with lower-ranked officers and those in back-office units reporting lower well-being scores.

His research underscores the urgent need for targeted mental health interventions, enhanced support programs, coping strategy training, and a supportive organizational culture to safeguard employee well-being in the banking sector.
