With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Student Records Evaluator, Ms. Leonila Samson. Atching Lily, to many, dedicated herself to the unit for 37 years, leaving an indelible mark on many of our students and colleagues.
Ms. Samson's journey with the University of the Philippines Extension Program in San Fernando (UPEPSF) Pampanga began in the early 80s in the old, unassuming two-story building inside the Capitol grounds.
"Atching Lily" was very passionate about her work. In 1995, when the San Fernando town proper was inundated, in spite of the danger and hazards, she braved the flood waters at the old site of the UPEPSF to secure the student records.
Many generations of UPDEPP students, faculty, and staff looked up to her as a second mother and a friend.
She is survived by her husband, John; children Rheizelle Samson-Adona and Ariel Adona, Regine, Glo-Nila Samson-Tio and Michael Ryen Tio; and grandchildren, Zhavia Kael Samson-Tio and Ryhziel Drixzen Samson Adona.
Atching Lily, your absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt. You will be missed.
