The Surigao del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology (SNCAT), under the leadership of Ms. Liza B. Budtan, MSFSc., College Administrator II, successfully conducted an orientation and pre-deployment program for 132 third-year students enrolled in the Diploma in Agricultural Technology (DAT).
This initiative was spearheaded by the Head of Industry and Linkages, Ms. Peavy Rosen P. Montaรฑez, as part of SNCATโs continuing commitment to strengthen industry-academe collaboration and ensure that students are well-prepared for real-world agricultural practices.
The activity aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes required for their Supervised Industry Learning (SIL), a vital component of their academic program. During the orientation, students were provided with guidelines on workplace expectations, safety protocols, ethical standards, and performance evaluation criteria.
The 132 DAT students are set to be deployed to SNCATโs partner industries, where they will gain hands-on experience and practical exposure in various agricultural operations. This immersion is expected to enhance their competencies and prepare them for future careers in the agriculture sector.
Ms. Budtan emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and continuous learning as the students embark on their SIL journey. Meanwhile, Ms. Montaรฑez highlighted the significance of industry partnerships in bridging the gap between classroom instruction and actual field application.
SNCAT remains steadfast in its mission to produce globally competitive and industry-ready graduates through programs that promote experiential learning and strong industry engagement.
