Fifty-three years ago, Martial Law was declared — a chapter of our history written in fear, blood, and silence. Thousands were imprisoned, tortured, and killed. Rights were stripped away, and democracy was nearly buried. But even in the darkest nights, Filipinos resisted. They proved that the spirit of freedom cannot be extinguished.

Today, we march again. The Trillion Peso March is not just a protest against corruption, but a living echo of our people’s defiance — a reminder that when we stand together, we are stronger than any tyrant, louder than any lie, greater than any plunderer.

Now more than ever, and as our solemn hymn instructs, it behooves the Atenean to go down from the hill and into the streets.

From Martial Law to the present day, our struggle continues. For freedom. For justice. For accountability. For the Filipino.
