The University of Makati Student Council (USC) as the paramount governing body for all bona fide students at the University of Makati respectfully seeking the assistance of College and Institute Deans for the upcoming re-opening of the elections on May 24, 2024 organized by Commission on Student Election (COSEL).

This request follows a previous one from the Center for Student Organizations and Activities (CSOA), due to a DISTRESSING INTERFERENCE and UNFAVORABLE INFLUENCE between: USC, Student Congress (SC), Student Judicial Council (SJC), Campus Coordinating Council (CCC), and COSEL on recent decision and manifestation of the Director of CSOA for the reopening of election.

The USC is ENCOURAGING every bona fide UMak student to EXERCISE their RIGHT TO SUFFRAGE.

ANNOUNCEMENT: RE-OPENING OF GOOGLE FORMS FOR ELECTIONS 🗳️

The Center for Student Organization Activities has decided to re-open the election for the College Student Council on May 24, 2024, from, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The goal is to achieve a voter turnout of at least fifty percent (50%) of the total population of the college or institute.

In line with this, the Colleges and Institute that are subject to re-opening are:

College of Arts and Letters
College of Business and Financial Sciences
College of Computing and Information Sciences
College of Governance and Public Policy
College of Science
College of Technology Management
College of Tourism and Hospitality Management
Institute of Nursing

The letter signed by the CSOA Director is attached. Be sure to cast your vote because your active participation is appreciated in upholding genuine student representation!

ADVISORY: This is to inform you that, due to the ongoing Renovation of the University of Makati Backgate / Emergency Access, the gate will be temporarily closed starting on May 23, 2024. This project is being conducted by the Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW).

During this period, all pedestrians and vehicles are kindly requested to use the main gate for entry and exit.

ADVISORY: Allowing all students to wear casual attire due to the heat index.

Due to the rising heat index, students are advised to temporarily wear light or comfortable clothing, except for those who have their required or specialized uniforms from April to May 2024.

Henceforth, students must adhere to the specified dress code outlined in the University's Student Handbook.

Mayor Abby Binay presided the University of Makati 266th (Special) Board of Regents Meeting last January 12, 2023 (Sunday) at Makati City Hall.

In the course of the meeting, President Elyxzur Ramos presented the achievements and successes of UMak in 2023, outlining forward-thinking initiatives for the current academic year.

After consultation with Mayor Abby Binay, the reclassification of UMak students from the embo barangays as non-makati residents will be effective next school year instead of next semester.

This will give students and parents ample time to prepare and adjust.

We thank you, Mayor Abby, for your great concern for the welfare of students from EMBO barangays.

In compliance with the Supreme Court ruling, starting 2nd Semester of AY 2023 - 2024, all EMBO barangay students will be classified as Non-Makati residents. Therefore, their token fee will be Three Thousand Pesos, in addition to the Miscellaneous Fees.

Kindly be informed that all classes scheduled for today, December 5, 2023, will exclusively conclude at 6:00 pm to commemorate the exceptional achievement of the School of Law a commendable a 94.12% for overall, 93.93% for first-time takers and Rank 1 among the 1-50 bar examiners in the recent Bar Examinations.
