As we begin a new academic year, we are reminded that the journey ahead is not one we take alone.

During today's Opening Ceremony, Fr. Robbie Sian, SJ invited us to pray not only for success, but for the gifts that truly matter: peace, renewal, a sense of mission, and unity. These are not things we simply stumble upon—they are graces we seek through God's guidance and discover as we walk together as one community.

May this school year be marked by hearts open to God's call, minds committed to truth, and lives dedicated to serving others.

As we begin a new academic year, we warmly welcome our new batch of Ateneo Law School students.

This year's OrSem theme is Dangal: Honor, Integrity, and Service in the Legal Profession.

During the OrSem Mass 2026 this morning, Fr. Dom offered this prayer for our new students in his homily:

"May you become excellent students of the law. But even more importantly, may you remain childlike enough to keep learning from God and others, humble enough to keep seeing the human face behind every case, and courageous enough never to abandon the people whom the Lord entrusts to your care.

Behind every case is a face. And as we know from the example of our Lord, hindi niya kayang tiisin at limutin ang bawat mukha, ang bawat isa, lalo na ang mga naghihirap at naisasantabi. Maging marangal nawa kayong mag-aaral ng batas, at bilang mga abogado sa hinaharap, nawa'y marangal ninyong maitaguyod ang inyong propesyon at ang mga taong inyong ipagtatanggol. Amen."

May this new chapter be one of learning with humility, serving with love, and remaining steadfast in the values that have brought you here. As you step into the wards and meet each patient entrusted to your care, may you continue to seek truth, not only through medicine, but also through faith, integrity, and compassion.

Congratulations on your first day of clerkship, Batch 2028. We are praying for you as you begin this journey. 💙🤍
