Warm congratulations to the University of Makati School of Law Debate and Moot Court Society (UMak Law DebSoc) for their impressive showing in the 2026 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, held on February 25–27, 2026 at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila.
UMak School of Law team placed 8th overall in the preliminary rounds (overall raw score) and 15th in the final overall team ranking. The Team also secured 18th place in the final memorial ranking. UMak’s oralists also earned notable individual recognitions, with Aira Juanson and Blesselda Girado both placing 15th Overall Best Oralists, Kyla Dianne Hernandez ranking 21st Best Oralist, and Franz Jasper Mapa placing 41st Best Oralist.
The Jessup Moot Court Competition is widely regarded as the largest and most prestigious public international law moot court competition in the world, drawing thousands of law students globally each year.
These achievements was made made possible with the support and guidance of Atty. Aislyn Janelle L. Yao, Mr. Benhur Queqquegan, Mr. Jakkim Befinosa, Mr. Joshua Aquiler, Mr. John Stephen Ilao, Ms. Nixie Ivan Anuat, and Mr. Charleton Royce Yu along with the unwavering encouragement of the UMak School of Law administration and community. Your mentorship and unwavering support are the backbone of this triumph.
