(GPCCI) is a non-stock, non-profit organization registered under the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission and was founded in February 2008 by the German business community in the Philippines. The GPCCI upholds its core objective of bilateral trade development via local government cooperation, affiliation with other local chambers and mediation between Germany and the Philippines. The chamber also maintains a strong cooperative function with the European National Chambers and the European Council (EC), for which it functions as representative on key issues. MISSION:
To promote and improve bilateral trade relations between Germany and the Philippines. To serve as the central organ of the German business community in the country.

What does successful dual education look like in practice?

The Industrial Mechanic Training Program brings theory into practice, combines learning with hands-on experience, and prepares trainees for the real demands of industry.

From 26–29 September 2026, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) conducted the Final Examination for the program’s inaugural batch of trainees.

The examination was conducted by an independent committee of industry experts, with a focus on pneumatics. Trainees demonstrated their technical knowledge, practical skills, and troubleshooting abilities in a rigorous, hands-on assessment.

🎓 The successful completion of the examination was celebrated during the Closing Ceremony on 30 September 2026, bringing together trainees, trainers, assessors, and partners to mark this important milestone.

The program is implemented by the KSB Foundation in partnership with Don Bosco Mondo and Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines. It is based on the German occupational profile for Industrial Mechanics and adapted to the Philippine context. Its dual education approach combines theoretical learning with hands-on training and integrates mechanical skills with elements of electrical, control technology, and pneumatics.

GPCCI supports the program through quality assurance and independent assessment, contributing to industry-driven technical training and skills development in the Philippines.

A big congratulations to the first batch of trainees — and a sincere thank you to all trainers, assessors, and partners who made this milestone possible!

As part of the German Security Delegation’s programme, our delegates had the opportunity to receive an economic and political overview of the Philippines from Mathias Kruse, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy Manila.

Boris Alex, Director for South and Southeast Asia at Germany Trade & Invest, complemented the session with a macroeconomic perspective on the Philippine market.

The briefing also featured Col. Raquel Vilchez of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Deputy Chief of the Systems Engineering and Modernization Office (AFPSEMO), who shared insights into the modernization priorities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The discussion provided our delegates with a deeper understanding of the country’s evolving defense and security landscape, including current capabilities and key modernization priorities of the AFP.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our guest speakers, and in particular to Col. Vilchez for sharing her valuable insights and perspectives with the delegation.

The German-Philippine Security Conference 2026 brought together German security and defense technology companies, Philippine stakeholders, and industry experts for an exchange on security, innovation, and opportunities for cooperation.

The conference opened with remarks from Christopher Zimmer, Executive Director of GPCCI, followed by welcoming remarks from H.E. Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke, Ambassador of Germany to the Philippines. Ann Hake, Delegation Head from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), then introduced the BMWE Export Initiative for Civil Security Technologies and Services and Foreign Market Entry Programme.

Throughout the conference, our German delegates presented their technologies and solutions across maritime and airborne surveillance, intelligence and decision advantage, operational resilience, and force protection, alongside discussions on the evolving security landscape in the Indo-Pacific.

The programme also featured a keynote on the Philippine security landscape by Rupert Paul C. Manhit, Chief Operating Officer of Stratbase Philippines, who shared insights on “Strengthening the Philippines’ Security Architecture: Strategic Partnerships and Innovation.” Germany’s Military Attaché, Commander Michael Radtke, concluded the formal programme with closing remarks highlighting the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue between Germany and the Philippines.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our speakers, panelists, German delegates, Philippine stakeholders, and partners, especially Stratbase Philippines and Defense Expo PH, for sharing their expertise and contributing to a meaningful German-Philippine dialogue.

By bringing together perspectives from government, industry, and technology providers, the conference provided a platform to exchange insights, showcase innovative technologies, and explore opportunities for stronger German-Philippine cooperation in security and defense.
