The 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗨𝗦𝗖) requested an emergency meeting yesterday, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, with the University Administration, particularly the 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹, to seek clarification regarding the August 11 advisory on the revised Final Examination Schedule for 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝟯, 𝗔.𝗬. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹, 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀, 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 (𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜), who collectively represented the concerns and experiences raised by students across the University. The discussion provided an avenue to clarify matters concerning the rescheduled examinations and their implications on 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀.

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 | 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒

The University Student Council (USC) formally shares the University Administration’s responses to the concerns raised by the Council regarding the recent changes and adjustments brought about by the suspension of classes and examinations.

The concerns raised cover the compressed final examination schedule, academic workload, conflicting examination schedules, safety and transportation concerns, alternative examination modalities, enrollment, grade processing, graduating students’ clearance, the September 1 class opening, and the Learning Continuity Plan.

Following the Council’s communication with the Administration, several adjustments and clarifications have been provided, including:

• Enrollment: Moved from August 13 to August 17, 2026
• Final Grade Submission: Extended to August 15, 2026
• Graduating Students’ Clearance: Deadline set on August 18, 2026, with no further extension
• September 1 Class Opening: Maintained, with enrollment adjustments and late enrollment accommodations
• Examinations: Existing arrangements remain, while students with legitimate circumstances may seek consideration from their respective faculty members or Colleges
• Learning Continuity Plan: The USC may continue advocating for the review and strengthening of existing continuity mechanisms for future disruptions.

The USC recognizes the importance of balancing academic integrity, fairness, student welfare, and the University’s academic requirements. We encourage students to coordinate directly with their respective Colleges, faculty members, and concerned offices regarding individual circumstances and concerns.

The USC would also like to inform the community that we are still actively coordinating with the University Administration regarding the remaining concerns and matters that require further clarification. The Council will continue to follow up with the Administration and advocate for the concerns of the student body. Further updates will be provided as soon as additional information becomes available.

We remain committed to communicating the voices of the Lasallian community and ensuring that student concerns are heard and appropriately addressed.

As the Third Term officially comes to an end, all students with assigned lockers are reminded to remove their personal belongings and valuables from their designated locker areas on or before August 13, 2026.

Please be advised that items left beyond the deadline will be cleared by the University and may be claimed at the USC Office.

Students who wish to avail of a locker must purchase a new slot again under a first come, first served basis. Wherein an updated guideline and procedure will be posted before the start of the New Academic Year.

[ADVISORY]

Following the announcement of the City Government of Malabon, please be guided by the following class and work arrangements for today, August 5, 2026:

• Integrated School classes will end at 12:00 noon. IS Faculty and personnel especially class advisers are requested to assist in the exit of students and coordination with parent fetchers.

• Tertiary Education Department examinations will end at 12:00 noon. Affected students are advised to coordinate directly with their respective teachers regarding the rescheduling of examinations.

• Office operations and work arrangements will end at 1:00 PM.

• Students and participants involved in TED thesis defenses and the TED Research Competition are advised to coordinate with the concerned offices for further instructions.

Members of the DLSAU community are encouraged to exercise caution, monitor official weather updates, and make the necessary arrangements for their safety.

The 4-day compressed schedule was originally implemented in response to fuel and energy concerns during the oil crisis. As circumstances have changed, the administration is now exploring whether a return to the traditional 5-day schedule would better support the needs of the Lasallian community.
