Every endemic species has a unique role in keeping nature in balance. 🌏 Meet today's featured species!
Common Name: Philippine Pangolin
Scientific Name: 𝑀𝘢𝑛𝘪𝑠 𝑐𝘶𝑙𝘪𝑜𝘯𝑒𝘯𝑠𝘪𝑠
Endemic to Palawan, the Philippine Pangolin is one of the Philippines' most fascinating mammals. Its diet of ants and termites helps protect forest ecosystems, highlighting the important role each species plays in maintaining biodiversity. However, because of illegal wildlife trade and hunting, it is now classified as Critically Endangered.
This past CVMAS Week 2026, let's recognize the importance of conserving our endemic wildlife and preserving the habitats they call home. Together, through awareness and responsible action, we can help ensure these extraordinary species continue to thrive for generations to come. 🌱
What fact about the Philippine Pangolin amazed you the most? 💬💬
