The De La Salle Araneta University Reserve Officers' Training Corps Unit engaged in an educational live forum hosted via Facebook Live by the National Youth Movement for West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS) last Sunday 13 1400H July 2026.

The event commenced with a solemn rendering of the Philippine National Anthem, setting a deeply patriotic tone for a crucial discussion celebrating the historic 2016 Arbitral Award. The international legal victory that officially invalidated the "nine-dash line" claim and firmly solidified the Philippines' sovereign rights over its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the West Philippine Sea.

The live stream focused heavily on the ongoing geopolitical tensions, providing future leaders with a clearer understanding of the current situation on our waters. Dr. Lamkin and the NYMWPS issued a powerful mandate to the Filipino youth, emphasizing that the defense of our territory requires a peaceful commitment to education, active participation, and critical thinking. The forum highlighted that by mastering our maritime history, actively keeping the conversation alive, and analyzing geopolitical developments objectively, the youth can effectively shield the nation against misinformation.
