Last August 4โ€“5, 2026, the De La Salle Araneta University community came together for the TED Research Competition 2026, a two-day celebration of research and the pursuit of knowledge.

The event opened on August 4 with the Poster Exhibit Launching at the LSB Lobby. The Opening Ceremony featured messages from the different colleges, followed by the ceremonial Ribbon Cutting to officially launch the exhibit. Researchers then presented their work as the poster exhibit and judging began, showcasing diverse studies and ideas across disciplines.

The competition continued on August 5 with the Oral Paper Presentations, where participants presented their research and engaged in insightful Q&A sessions with the panel of judges across various disciplinesโ€”from Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine to Computer Engineering and Computer Science, CBMA, Psychology, and Food Technology.

The afternoon brought everyone together for the Plenary Session at Rizal Hall, followed by acknowledgements and announcements, before culminating in the Closing and Awarding Ceremony.

From the first poster displayed to the final award presented, the TED Research Competition celebrated the dedication, creativity, and scholarly contributions of our researchers.

Congratulations to all our participants, presenters, judges, and awardees for making TED Research Competition 2026 a meaningful celebration of research and discovery!

The University Research Center successfully conducted the second session of Project Startline: Priming the Lasallian Research Community, Understanding the Research Ecosystem Part 2, on June 4, 2026, at Performing Arts Hall.

Participants explored more practice-oriented approaches to research through Action Research presented by Dr. Jennifer Reyes, Problem-Based Research discussed by Mx. Maurice Gravidez, and a session on Research Ethics facilitated by Mr. Francis Joseph Beltran. These discussions emphasized the role of research in addressing real-world challenges while upholding the highest standards of ethical practice.

On the same day, the University Research Center also held a separate Introduction to Action Research Seminar-Workshop at Jangsuk Hall for Non-Teaching Personnel (NTPs), facilitated by Dr. Jennifer Reyes. The workshop highlighted how action research can be utilized in administrative and support functions to identify challenges, improve processes, and promote continuous organizational development.

By providing learning opportunities tailored to both academic personnel and non-teaching staff, Project Startline continues to reinforce the University's commitment to fostering a research-driven community where inquiry, innovation, and improvement are everyone's responsibility.

The University Research Center successfully launched Project Startline: Priming the Lasallian Research Community through its first session, Understanding the Research Ecosystem Part 1, held on June 1, 2026, at Rizal Hall.

The session provided participants with a strong foundation in research through discussions on the Basics of Research by Ms. Aeisha Audrey Capistrano and Understanding Basic Research Types, Approaches, and Disciplines by Mr. Francis Joseph Beltran. Through these presentations, participants gained valuable insights into the current research ecosystem, fundamental concepts, methodologies, and diverse forms of research that serve as the backbone of scholarly inquiry.

As the first step in this learning series, the session aimed to equip members of the Lasallian community with the knowledge necessary to engage in meaningful and impactful research. We thank our speakers and participants for their active engagement and enthusiasm as we continue to strengthen the University's culture of research and innovation.
