Bukidnon State University (BukSU) conducts its Honoring and Recognition of September 2025 and March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) Passers and Topnotchers, held at the BukSU Mini Theater on June 11, 2026. The University honored Princess Willah M. Yamahon, a graduate from the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education for ranking first place in the March 2026 LEPT, achieving a remarkable score of 95.0 percent.
In her opening message, she reflected the feelings of the examinees as well as her own personal journey on the efforts and sacrifices prior to taking the licensure examination. Giving her fair share of doubts and fears, but despite all that, she stresses that courage and determination is what made her strive toward success.
โHave you ever been so afraid of failing that you almost forgot how far you've already come, only to realize that courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward despite it? Looking back on our LEPT journey, I realize that many of us were afraid. We were afraid of failing, afraid of disappointing the people who believed in us, and afraid that our efforts might not be enough. We focused so much on what could go wrong that we often overlooked the countless hours of preparation, sacrifice, and determination that had brought us to this very moment.โ said Yamahon.
Yamahon highlighted that courage is not about being free from doubt, but choosing the next step even when outcomes remain uncertain. That struggles will persist and success does not simply happen overnight. As a consistent honor student from elementary to college, Yamahon also expressed the pressures that came from the expectation to always excel.
โBeing a top-notcher, it is not always about success and achievement. Behind every achievement lies a story of hard work, sacrifice, perseverance, and faith. This accomplishment didn't happen overnight.โ Yamahon emphasized.
In her message, she expressed that her achievement is not hers alone but molded and shared through her faith and her family. That success is no one-man achievement but a shared accolade with passion to those who care.
โThrough every obstacle, I learned that success is not about never failing. It is about continuing despite difficulties, showing up every day, giving your best, and trusting the process even when the results are not immediately visible.โ Yamahon says.
Yamahon also expressed her gratitude to the Bukidnon State University College of Education administrators, faculty members, mentors, and family for their guidance and support in achieving a great height in the LEPT, acknowledging the Universityโs vital role in honing her success and experience in becoming a professional teacher.
โI also challenge you to become lifelong learners. Let us continuously improve our skills, embrace innovation, and remain open to growth. A great teacher is not someone who knows everything, but someone who never stops learning.โ says Yamahon, urging her fellow passers to strive for learning and to hone future learners towards success.
As she ended her speech, Yamahon challenged new teachers to become a teacher that every student needs, a teacher that listens, understands, motivates, and inspires. Stressing that being a teacher is more than just teaching but to change lives and see the potential of every learner.
