On ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, a Seminar on Drug Education and Prevention was successfully held at Barangay Casili, Mallig, Isabela as part of the Community Extension Program of Mallig Plains College, Inc. โ College of Criminology. The activity was attended by the BS Criminology students together with the JCBS Officers, who actively participated in this meaningful and informative community-based initiative.
The seminar was conducted by ๐๐โ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ง, ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ, ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ฑ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ, in partnership with the ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ (๐๐๐) ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ , and with the support and cooperation of the ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข, ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ . The event was also attended by the ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข, ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ , whose presence and participation contributed to the success of the activity.
The program was facilitated by the Masters of Ceremony, Edwin Colcol and Jastine Kaye Pascaran. The seminar discussion was delivered by the ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ , ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ , with the assistance of ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ง ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฒ๐ง๐จ, in place of the originally invited Chief of Police who was unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances.
The activity provided valuable and essential knowledge on drug awareness and prevention, particularly on the definition, classifications, causes, signs, and effects of drug abuse, as well as the dangers of commonly abused substances such as Shabu, Ma*****na, Ecstasy, and Co***ne, including the harmful effects of to***co and alcohol. The seminar served as a timely reminder that awareness, education, and prevention are vital in protecting the youth and strengthening the community against the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The College of Criminology extends its heartfelt gratitude to Maโam Maricris R. Gulan, RCrim, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Mallig, especially Police Lieutenant Edward C. Curameng and PSSg Baby Lyn S. Parayno, as well as the Barangay Officials and Barangay Health Workers of Casili, Mallig, for their support, cooperation, and valuable contribution to the success of this community extension activity.
This initiative reflects the institutionโs continuing commitment to community education, youth empowerment, and the promotion of a safer, informed, and drug-free society.
