RE:VISIONED, REIMAGINED 👁
Students gathered at the seminar-workshop entitled “RE:VISION: Reimagining Visual Storytelling Through Post-Production” in Bulacan State University, July 30.
Focusing on editing in post-production, this is the first of four seminars organized by 3rd year Journalism students as a fulfillment of their course requirement.
The seminar commenced at 10 a.m. with the opening remarks by the journalism program head, Ma'am Ethel Jovito, followed by the introduction of the guest speaker by the course instructor, Sir Joshua Nicdao.
Afterwards, guest speaker Michael Angelo Calixtro, a social media specialist, finally began his interactive lecture on the basics of video editing and post-production, emphasizing the importance of file segregation and having backup plans.
“Post-production is giving life. Siya yung nagbibigay ng saysay sa mga pinaghihirapan nyo,” said Mr. Calixtro on how post-production enhances visual storytelling.
After the lecture proper, a question and answer portion was held for Mr. Calixtro followed by an intermission performance by Calibrated that signalled the end of the morning session at 11:50 a.m.
After the lunch break, the seminar recommenced at 1:30 p.m. with a workshop exercise on video editing, with Mr. Calixtro returning to give a quick demonstration to the participants.
