The Gender and Development (GAD) Center conducted a consultative meeting with the Procurement Office last May 05, 2026 to discuss initiatives and concerns related to the establishment and procurement of accessibility projects of GADC in the university.

Topics discussed included concerns regarding elevator accessibility in buildings with more than 2-storey floors for ease of access and also the installation of ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens, as well as the proposed establishment of gender-neutral restrooms to promote a more inclusive campus environment.

The meeting also highlighted the provision of technical assistance in GAD mainstreaming through partnerships and the engagement of resource speakers to strengthen gender-responsive programs and initiatives within the university.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Center conducted a consultative meeting with the College of Law (COL) May 05, 2026 and among the topics discussed were the endorsement of the 2026 Gender and Development Plan and Budget (GPB), concerns regarding elevator accessibility and the installation of ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens, and the proposed establishment of gender-neutral restrooms in the College of Law.

The meeting also emphasized the inclusion of GAD in every College of Law projects and the provision of technical assistance in GAD mainstreaming to further strengthen gender-responsive policies, programs, and activities within the college.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Center conducted a consultative meeting with the Project Management Office last May 05, 2026 to discuss ongoing and proposed initiatives related to accessibility, infrastructure development, and gender-responsive programs within the university.

Key discussions included concerns regarding the additional budget for the GAD Building, the installation of elevators and accessibility ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens, and the proposed establishment of gender-neutral restrooms to promote a more inclusive campus environment.

The meeting also covered the conduct of the HGDG Training scheduled in the following months for PMO for ease of inclusion of gender-responsiveness in university projects, also the updates on the new organizational structure, and matters concerning the proposal of establishment of GADC External Office as part of the universityโ€™s continuing commitment to inclusive and gender-responsive development.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Center conducted a consultative meeting with the Planning and Development Office (PDO) last May 05, 2026 to discuss initiatives and institutional concerns related to accessibility, safety, and inclusive development within the university.

Among the topics discussed were participation in GAD-related projects, the installation of elevators and accessibility ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in all BulSU buildings with more than two storeys, the establishment of gender-neutral restrooms, and the provision of CCTV systems in buildings and offices to strengthen campus safety and security.

The meeting also included discussions on the proposed JAWS System and Devices project and the conduct of the HGDG Training scheduled for May or June to further promote gender-responsive planning and development initiatives.

Topics discussed included the endorsement of the 2026 Gender and Development Plan and Budget (GPB), accessibility concerns such as elevator issues in the CHTM Building and the installation and restoration of PWD ramps to be accessible and railings in coordination with the General Services Office (GSO), and the proposed establishment of gender-neutral restrooms in promotion of gender-responsive, safe and inclusive BulSU community.

The meeting also explored a collaborative Freshman Orientation project focusing on Mental Health Awareness to promote a more inclusive, supportive, and student-centered academic environment.

A consultative meeting was conducted with the College of Professional Teacher Education (CPTED) to discuss institutional concerns and collaborative initiatives promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and gender responsiveness within the academic community.

One of the main agenda items was the endorsement of the 2026 Gender and Development Plan and Budget (GPB), which highlighted proposed programs and funding allocations for gender-responsive and inclusive initiatives.

The meeting also addressed accessibility concerns, including elevator issues and the installation of accessibility ramps for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens to ensure safer and more convenient access to facilities and alsot he establishment of gender-neutral restrooms was likewise discussed to promote a more inclusive environment for all students and employees.

Both offices also explored a collaborative project for the Freshman Orientation Program to incorporate gender sensitivity, inclusivity, and accessibility awareness among incoming students.

In support of inclusive education, the meeting included discussions on conducting Basic Sign Language Training for CPTED faculty and training related to Blind and Visually Impaired Education to strengthen faculty capability in handling diverse learners.

Additionally, concerns regarding the lactation area, particularly the provision of the room key through the Deanโ€™s Office, were discussed to ensure proper access and convenience for nursing mothers.

This includes improving the collection of Sex-Disaggregated Data (SDD) to ensure that all studentsโ€”male, female, and those from marginalized groups (PWDs, Solo Parents, Senior Citizens, IPs)โ€”are properly represented and supported.

In addition, the safety and well-being of parents and guardians waiting outside the campus during enrollment periods were highlighted, with recommendations to enhance security measures and provide safer, more organized waiting areas.

A productive consultative meeting was held with the University President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres to discuss key initiatives for the New Administration Building and the New College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) Building.

The meeting focused on the proposal of installation of elevators, gender-neutral comfort rooms, and PWD-accessible ramps to better serve the needs of students, personnel, and campus visitors. These developments aim to ensure that our university spaces are more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to diverse needsโ€”especially for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and gender-diverse individuals.

These initiatives also align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
