Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC) is aware of a social media post circulating online containing threatening statements directed at the College community. We understand the concern and apprehension this has caused among our students, parents, faculty, personnel, and the general public.
The College takes all threats to the safety and security of its academic community with utmost seriousness, regardless of whether such statements are intended as a joke, an expression of frustration, or a genuine threat. Any statement that may compromise public safety warrants immediate attention and appropriate action.
Upon learning of the incident, the College immediately initiated coordination with local law enforcement authorities for appropriate assessment and investigation, and formally requested the deployment of police personnel to both campuses. The College is taking the necessary steps to address the matter and safeguard the welfare of its academic community.
As a precautionary measure, all classes across CPSC campuses shall be conducted through online learning modalities today, October 13, 2026. Faculty members are directed to make the necessary arrangements and communicate appropriate instructions to their students.
The College likewise emphasizes that strict campus security and access control protocols have long been established and enforced as part of its standard security procedures, even prior to this incident. These include the mandatory presentation of valid identification cards, the issuance and verification of gate passes for authorized visitors, and the prohibition of unauthorized individuals, including vendors, from entering College premises. Campus security personnel have been directed to maintain strict compliance with these existing protocols and exercise heightened vigilance in light of the present situation.
These established security measures, together with the additional precautionary arrangements undertaken in response to the incident, reflect the College’s continuing commitment to maintaining a safe and secure academic environment.
The College strongly encourages everyone to remain calm, exercise vigilance, and refrain from reposting, sharing, or further circulating the threatening social media post, as well as any unverified information that may cause unnecessary alarm or public apprehension. Everyone is likewise urged to promptly report any suspicious activity or information relevant to the incident to campus security personnel or the proper authorities.
We assure our students, parents, personnel, and the general public that the safety, security, and well-being of the entire CPSC community remain our highest priority. The College is actively addressing this matter in coordination with the appropriate authorities and shall provide further official updates as circumstances warrant.
