In celebration of National Heritage Month 2026 with the theme, “Roots and Horizons: Our Shared Heritage, Our Collective Future,” the Center for West Visayan Studies and the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod of the University of the Philippines Visayas proudly launch:

“𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗼, 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻: A Participatory Heritage Mapping Initiative in the Gigantes Group of Islands, Carles, Iloilo.”

This initiative brings together teachers from North and South Gigantes Islands to engage in participatory heritage mapping workshops that aim to identify, document, and preserve the rich cultural and natural heritage of the island communities.

This project seeks to ensure that island narratives remain alive and become part of the broader regional heritage discourse.

Through lectures and mapping exercises, participating educators will help build community-generated heritage profiles and maps that reflect the unique identity of the Gigantes Islands.

Empowering better research and development through Value Chain Analysis, join us!

We are pleased to invite you to Value Chain Analysis Training on June 23 - 25, 2026, from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, via Zoom.

We are honored to have Dr. Teresita A. Narvaez as our resource person for this training with Dr. Anabel Gamorez as the facilitator.

This training is open to all researchers, students, and practitioners in the fields of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) and socio-economics. A registration fee of ₱1,800.00 applies for regular participants.

Note: A discounted registration fee of PHP 1,500.00 is offered to TBTI Philippines member institutions from the original PHP 1,800.00 fee, as this training is conducted in partnership with TBTI Philippines.

Among the 113 technology ventures and initiatives reported by the University of the Philippines Technology Transfer and Business Development Office in 2025 were 45 technology licenses, 24 spinoff companies, and 68 technology transfer leads. TTBDO is under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation.
