CAPSU Burias Secures Industrial Design Registration for CLAM COLLECTOR

The Research and Development Office of CAPSU - Burias Campus is proud to announce that “CLAM COLLECTOR” has officially been granted an Industrial Design Registration by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Bureau of Patents.

CAPSU COIRMACH EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION AT DOST NICE 2026

The CAPSU Burias Research Community proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of CoirMach: A Coco Fiber Twining Machine for winning 2nd Place in the Tuklas Award – Government-Funded Category during DOST’s 2026 National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE).

Developed by Engr. Mona Lyn L. Oloroso, Engr. Marilyn L. Bernabe, Engr. Julito A. Albaladejo, Ms. Michelle L. Villamor, and Mr. Willard P. Opher, CoirMach serves as a promising innovation in coconut fiber processing, showcasing how research and technology can transform indigenous resources into valuable and eco-friendly solutions for the industry.

This year’s NICE, held on April 27–28, 2026 at the Acacia Hotel Manila, carried the theme “Limitless: Innovation Beyond Boundaries” and was organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI).

This achievement brings pride and honor not only to CAPSU but also to the Province of Capiz and the entire academic and research community. May this success continue to inspire innovation, excellence, and impactful research for nation-building.

CAPSU Burias Faculty Wins Best Research Paper Presenter Award at IPEC 2026

The Capiz State University – Burias Campus Research Community proudly congratulates Prof. Niño Labanza Horario, Faculty of the Bachelor of Physical Education Program, College of Education, for being awarded the Best Research Paper Presenter Award during the 2026 International Physical Education Convention (IPEC) held on May 5–9, 2026 at the University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao City, Philippines.

Prof. Horario was recognized for his outstanding presentation of the research study entitled “LUBAG: Documenting Movement Patterns to Develop Choreographic Works for Artistic Expression and Community Awareness” explored Lubag, a rare genetic disorder commonly found in some communities in Capiz. The study documented the movement patterns associated with the condition and used them as the basis for creating choreographic works. Through artistic performance, the study aimed to raise community awareness, promote understanding of the condition, and help reduce misconceptions surrounding Lubag.

Your achievement brings pride and honor to the CAPSU Burias community and reflects the University’s growing culture of research excellence. May you continue to inspire the academic and research community through your outstanding work and contributions to Physical Education and the arts.

Scopus and Web of Science-Indexed Journals with FREE Article Processing Charges (APC)

In line with the University’s continuing commitment to strengthen research productivity and increase high-impact scholarly publications, the Research & Development Office of CAPSU Burias Campus is pleased to disseminate a curated list of Scopus and Web of Science (WoS)-indexed journals that do not require Article Processing Charges (APC).

The journals included in this compilation were carefully verified through the official Scopus and Web of Science databases to ensure their current indexing status, credibility, legitimacy, and relevance to the various research thrusts of the Campus. The database includes essential journal information such as the journal title, official website link, publisher, journal type, quartile ranking, and number of issues published per year. The list includes journals across various disciplines relevant to the Campus research thrusts, including Agriculture, Natural and Biological Sciences; Engineering and Technology; Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communication Science; and Management, Public Administration, and Business Management.

This initiative aims to assist faculty researchers in identifying reliable and legitimate publication outlets while avoiding predatory and non-indexed journals.
