Every woman and girl should be granted the respect and the dignity they deserve.

The College of Arts and Sciences joins the 18-day campaign ‘Color your Icon Display’ (November 25 - December 12) to end Violence Against Women, raising awareness for VAWC, promoting respect and safety for all.

We live in a world where no gender is above another, so let’s stop saying ‘babae kalang’ and instead say ‘babae ka’ with pride. Let’s take action because pur small actions, no matter how tiny, lead to big goals, helping us end violence against women and children, bringing us to a place of comfort.

Say NO to Violence Against Women and Children. Let’s all advocate for EQUALITY, EMPOWERMENT, and SOLIDARITY.

THE CASCSC would like to thank EVERYONE for transcending for one cause.🧡

FACE IT 2025 DAY 1: A Global Kickoff of Innovation and Culture
Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia

FACE IT 2025 officially opened on October 27, 2025, at the Algoritma Auditorium, Universitas Brawijaya, in the heart of Malang. Participants from around the world gathered for a week of academic and cultural exchange on Information Technology—bringing diverse perspectives, vibrant energy, and shared purpose.

Among the delegations proudly representing the Philippines is the team from Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT). The group includes two faculty members—Mr. Dennis G. Corlet, Director of Technical Advisory and Extension Services, and Mr. Randy D. Bello, both from the College of Arts and Sciences, BS Information Systems Department—alongside nine dynamic students from the Computer Science and Information Systems Department.

The morning session began with registration, where delegates received their kits and began forming new friendships. Dr. Muhammad Ali Fauzi delivered the FACE IT 2025 report, reminding everyone that “collaboration is innovation, and diversity is strength.” A video presentation of FACE IT 2024 followed, inspiring this year’s cohort to build on past milestones.

Simultaneously, students participated in the International Essay Competition (INESCOM) poster presentation, showcasing infographic designs of their proposed systems. Representing DEBESMSCAT, Ms. Jovelyn R. Dagohoy (BSCS 4C) presented for Team A, whose system—iMUNIFY: Integrated Municipal Information and Dashboard System—focused on governance and local data integration. Mr. John Rave R. Arizobal (BSCS 4B) represented Team B, introducing NEURA: An Enhanced Education and Meeting Platform through Virtual Reality Technology, which explored immersive solutions for learning and collaboration. Their work highlighted youth-driven innovation and the power of visual storytelling in addressing real-world challenges.

The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science welcomed participants with heartfelt words: “Friendship, empathy, and collaboration are the source of innovation.” He encouraged everyone to truly know and build each other—for a brighter, innovative future together. The Acting Director of Universitas Brawijaya added, “You are not here by mistake, but by good chance,” affirming the meaningful presence of each participant.

The academic session featured Topic 1: Big Data & Cloud Computing for AI and Beyond, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ing. Serkan Girgin from the University of Twente, Netherlands. His insights sparked curiosity and deep discussion on the future of AI.

In the afternoon, participants immersed themselves in Indonesian culture through Batik Crafted: From Pattern to Textile Making. They learned about Batik’s rich history and created their own pieces in a hands-on session. The day concluded with a vibrant Student Council meet-up, where youth leaders shared unique initiatives and built connections across institutions.

Day 1 was a celebration of curiosity, culture, and connection. They're just getting started—stay tuned for more learning, laughter, and global collaboration in the days ahead!

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀!

To address classroom shortages, meet global workforce demands, and fulfill the institution’s mandate of ensuring equitable and quality education, DEBESMSCAT proposes the implementation of an Enhanced Flexible Learning Policy, effective Second Semester, Academic Year 2025–2026.

This policy will:
- Shift the General Education Curriculum (GEC) toward hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous modalities
- Retain full face-to-face delivery for major and laboratory subjects, and
- Integrate team teaching, hands-on learning, and industry–community partnerships to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Your participation in this survey will help the institution assess student readiness and preference to ensure an inclusive, accessible, and effective flexible learning implementation.

All responses will be kept confidential and used for academic planning and policy development purposes only.

In Unity Against Corruption

The DEBESMSCAT Supreme Student Council (SSC) firmly stands with the youth and all Filipinos in the national movement against corruption. We recognize that corruption is one of the gravest threats to our nation. It destroys trust, weakens institutions, hinders progress, and steals the future that every Filipino deserves. Leadership is not a throne for personal gain it is a sacred duty to serve the people with integrity, justice, and purpose. Sa bawat salita, may katotohanan, sa bawat gawa, may tunay na katarungan.

As student leaders, we are called to rise above personal interest and embody transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership. Ending corruption is not a one-day act, it begins with small but consistent choices of honesty, fairness, and service to others. By leading by example, empowering our fellow youth, and promoting ethical practices, we plant the seeds of a governance system that is just, transparent, and worthy of the people’s trust.

This day should serve as an eye opener to all citizens: vote wisely, stop choosing corrupt and ineffective leaders. Walang mali sa protesta, may protesta dahil may mali. Raise your voice, demand accountability, and uphold good governance not only in words but in every action, every decision, and every step toward change.

True leadership is measured not by titles, power, or privilege, but by courage, honesty, and the unwavering commitment to do what is right even when it is difficult. When leaders put integrity over self-interest, corruption finds no room to exist.

Gising tayo… pero hanggang kailan tayong magpapanggap na tulog? Oras na para kumilos, ipaglaban ang tama, at buwagin ang sistemang bulok para sa kinabukasang malinis at karapat-dapat sa bawat Pilipino!

The DEBESMSCAT SSC calls on all youth and citizens to rise, speak out, and act with integrity. Ang pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa atin. Together, we can transform our nation one responsible choice, one brave action, and one honest leader at a time.
