This partnership strengthens the mission of NEYLS 2026 in promoting youth leadership, environmental awareness, marine life conservation, and collective action for sustainable communities. Through this collaboration, we hope to further inspire and engage student leaders and student affairs practitioners in advancing environmental stewardship and empowering the youth to become active partners in protecting our natural resources.

Together, let us continue building a generation of environmentally conscious and action-oriented leaders for Masbate, for Bicol, and for the nation.

🌿 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑 🌊

We proudly introduce 𝑴𝒔. 𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒂 𝑫. 𝑨𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒂, a passionate and dedicated environmental professional whose work exemplifies an unwavering commitment to the protection and conservation of our country’s natural resources.

A Biologist by profession, Ms. Almocera currently serves as a Forest Technician I at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region V – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR CENRO) Mobo, Masbate. In her role, she actively contributes to the Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Management Program (CMEMP), advancing initiatives focused on the protection, rehabilitation, and sustainable management of coastal and marine ecosystems. Her work includes strengthening Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), conserving coastal biodiversity, enhancing ecosystem resilience to climate change, and promoting sustainable, science-based resource use through community engagement.

Guided by the ridge-to-reef approach, Ms. Almocera is also deeply involved in watershed management, conducting characterization and vulnerability assessments that support integrated land-to-sea conservation planning. Her expertise extends to coastal habitat assessments, where she monitors coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass beds—providing vital data for biodiversity conservation and sustainable resource management.

Beyond this, she plays an active role in the conservation and management of Protected Areas (PAs), contributing to biodiversity monitoring, habitat protection, and environmental awareness initiatives among communities and stakeholders. Her work ensures alignment with national environmental policies while empowering local participation in conservation efforts.

Further strengthening her field capabilities, Ms. Almocera is a licensed SCUBA Diver, enabling her to engage directly in underwater assessments and marine conservation activities. Her hands-on experience across both terrestrial and marine ecosystems reflects her strong dedication to science-based conservation and environmental stewardship.

Through her extensive experience and advocacy, Ms. Almocera continues to inspire communities, youth leaders, and environmental advocates to become active stewards of the environment and champions of sustainability.

𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘:
• All contestants must be fully registered participants of the National Environmental Youth Leaders Summit
• All contestants must not be a participant in the other competitions of the National Environmental Youth Leaders Summit
• Each team must consist of 3 members per team/organization

𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒:
• The theme for the competition will be based on the NEYLS Theme and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• The Quiz Bowl will consist of 3 rounds. For easy round, each correct answer earns 1 point. For average round, each correct answer earns 3 points. For difficult round, each correct answer earns 5 points.
• Each round will have 10 questions. Questions will be read twice by the Quizmaster.
Participants will be given 5 seconds to write their answers on the illustration board provided to them. The Quizmaster will signal “go” and participants should raise their answers at the same time.
• For multiple-choice questions, teams must indicate the letter of their chosen answer. For open-ended questions, answers must be written legibly on the provided answer sheets/boards.
• In case of a tie, a sudden-death round will be conducted. Teams will be asked a set of tie-breaking questions, and the first team to answer correctly will win. If no team answers within the given time, additional tie-breaker questions will be provided until the tie is resolved.
• Use of electronic devices, reference materials, or any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
