The University of Cebu–Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) successfully underwent the joint evaluation conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) on July 14, 2026, as part of the agencies' continuing quality assurance and regulatory assessment of maritime education programs.

The evaluation team was headed by Capt. Leonardo Mella of MARINA, with Monita dela Cruz representing CHED.

The evaluators were welcomed by Campus Director Dr. Anna Liza Son, Associate Campus Academic Director for Maritime Engr. Jacklyn Descartin, Associate Campus Academic Director for Administration Daryl Legarde, Human Resource Director Rebecca Ancheta, Institutional Quality Assurance Manager Dr. Rey Carlito Aranzado, OIC-Dean of the Maritime Education Department Capt. Ronelio Tisoy, and other UCLM officials and auditees.

The joint evaluation assessed the university's compliance with CHED and MARINA standards for maritime education.

The University of Cebu–Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) conducted a Test Construction Workshop on July 9, 2026, at the Basic Education (BE) Function Hall, bringing together faculty members from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) and the College of Customs Administration (CCA).

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Ritchel Boiser as part of the university’s Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Seminar-Workshop Series. It aimed to strengthen faculty members’ competencies in developing valid, reliable, and outcomes-based assessment tools aligned with OBE principles.
