𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙮𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 — 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤.

𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧

A viral video recently sparked public concern after a group of individuals was seen dancing, singing, and enjoying a remixed version of the Philippine National Anthem, “Lupang Hinirang.” While the uploader described it as a form of “creative expression” for Filipinos and Filipino-Americans and stated that no disrespect was intended, many Filipinos expressed alarm over the altered rendition and the manner in which the anthem was treated.

Under 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙉𝙤. 8491, also known as 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙤𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨, the National Anthem is protected by law and must be performed with dignity, solemnity, and proper respect. The law states that the anthem must follow its official musical arrangement and should not be played or sung for mere recreation, amusement, or entertainment purposes. It also requires all persons to stand at attention and observe proper decorum whenever the anthem is played.

As advocates of discipline, patriotism, and civic awareness, CBM CORPS strongly reminds the public that national symbols are not ordinary content for trends, remixes, or entertainment. The Philippine Flag, the National Anthem, and other heraldic symbols represent the identity, history, sacrifice, and sovereignty of the Filipino people.

If Filipinos themselves fail to respect these national symbols, it raises the question of how we expect others to value and respect our country. Respect for our national identity begins with our own actions.

Creative freedom must always have limits when it comes to matters protected by law and national dignity. Respect for our symbols is not optional — it is a civic responsibility.

CBM CORPS encourages everyone to become informed about the provisions of Republic Act No. 8491 and to help preserve the honor of our nation through proper conduct and awareness.

Respect the Flag. Honor the Anthem. Know the Law. 🇵🇭

CBMC GENERAL ASSEMBLY

‎ Today, the CBMC General Assembly was successfully conducted, focusing on key matters essential to the organization’s operations and development. The session covered the evaluation of recruits, recruitment plans for the upcoming school year, and preparations for the flag burning ceremony. Discussions also included the assignment of weekly cleaners, election of officers for the School Year 2026–2027, summer party planning, and the request for a new Philippine flag. Additional agenda items such as IMAP, EOC practice for graduation, procurement of flag holders or locks, updates in the CBL, and other matters were thoroughly addressed.

‎CBMC personnel carried out the assembly with discipline, cooperation, and professionalism, ensuring that all concerns were clearly presented and discussed. This gathering reflects the commitment of the corps to maintain order, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Born in Tondo, Manila, Bonifacio was the common man, a self-taught intellectual who dared to challenge an empire. Realizing that peaceful reform was failing, he took decisive action in 1892 by founding the 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗞𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗸 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 (𝗞𝗞𝗞), which aimed for total independence through armed revolution.

He cemented his historical role in August 1896 by leading the pivotal 𝘾𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙙 𝙇𝙖𝙬𝙞𝙣, where revolutionaries tore up their cedulas, igniting the Philippine Revolution and creating the first widespread, popular uprising against colonial power in Asia.

Known as the "𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙖𝙣," Bonifacio's impact remains profound: he fundamentally shifted the goal of the nationalist movement to outright sovereignty and proved that the power to change society rests in the hands of the masses.

His legacy today is a powerful 𝙨𝙮𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢.

CBMC was honored to take part in the entire event — beginning with the Entry of Colors, ensuring crowd control, and responsibly managing the jail booth to maintain order and coordination at all times.

‎Our members carried out their duties with discipline, professionalism, and unwavering readiness to assist. More than maintaining security, the Color Bearer and Marshal Corps aimed to create an environment where every participant could truly enjoy the intramurals — safely, responsibly, and with confidence.
‎
‎This deployment was not only a duty fulfilled — it was a testament to the values we uphold: leadership, integrity, and service. As we move forward to the next day of the event, CBMC remains committed to performing with dedication and excellence.
