After the first rotation of ๐‘ท๐’†๐’†๐’“ ๐‘ด๐’†๐’๐’•๐’๐’“๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘บ๐’†๐’”๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’๐’” and the unveiling of the new ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’ƒ๐’‚๐’š-๐‘จ๐’“๐’‚๐’ ๐‘บ๐‘ณ๐‘ท ๐‘บ๐’†๐’”๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’๐’” , the SLP SAS Interns collected the thoughts, insights, and suggestions of its participants to uncover the effects these programs have had on the ๐‘บ๐‘ณ๐‘ท ๐‘บ๐’•๐’–๐’…๐’†๐’๐’• ๐‘ฉ๐’๐’…๐’šโ€™๐’” ๐‘บ๐’๐’„๐’Š๐’-๐‘ฌ๐’Ž๐’๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’‚๐’ ๐‘ณ๐’†๐’‚๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ (๐‘บ๐‘ฌ๐‘ณ).

While its participants state that the Peer Mentoring and Sabay-Aral Sessions have helped improve their Socio-Emotional Learning, a lot can still be done to further improve and further facilitate their development in their ๐’‚๐’„๐’‚๐’…๐’†๐’Ž๐’Š๐’„, ๐’‘๐’†๐’“๐’”๐’๐’๐’‚๐’, and ๐’”๐’๐’„๐’Š๐’‚๐’ ๐’๐’Š๐’—๐’†๐’”.

The time has come for your knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA) to be tested. ๐Ÿซฃ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿคฏ ๐Ÿฅน ๐Ÿซ  ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿฅณ ๐Ÿ˜

We believe that you have prepared for this, and we believe that you can ace it. We hope that you also believe in yourself and know that you can do it! ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿง 

๐Ÿ“REMINDERS:

1. Wear the appropriate, clean, and well-pressed complete uniform, including the prescribed SLP uniform, proper shoes, validated ID, and nameplate.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS ONLY: For those who do not yet have their prescribed uniforms, please secure a permit from the Student Affairs Office (SAO).

2. MALE STUDENTS: Observe the prescribed proper haircut and do not wear earrings or other piercings.

3. Bring your EXAM PERMIT and make sure that it is properly signed after taking the exam. If you do not have your exam permit yet, notify your course facilitator immediately.

4. Bring extra pens (blue or black) and No. 2 pencils.

5. Read and understand all instructions carefully. Failure to follow the instructions may result in your answers not being credited.

6. Lastly, believe in yourself. You have prepared for this, so trust what you have learned and give it your best. And, of course, do not forget to PRAY. ๐Ÿ™

Check your year level, courses, mode of exam (online or F2F), and the assigned exam rooms. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ ๐Ÿ‘€

This month, we highly regard and celebrate the impact that you have on the lives of each learner under your care. Your efforts do not go unseen.

In connection with this, the CDU SLP Interns would like to especially acknowledge the critical role and assistance you provide in facilitating the speech and language growth of each child to develop their abilities to communicate with you, their peers, and their families. From each gesture, to body language, and sound, you have seen and ensured you hear them. You have not just taught them concepts, but have also bridged their connection with their family and significant others.

As ushers of social connection and bridgers of interpersonal relationships, there is an inevitable need for SLPs to develop their social and emotional growth, not just for others but also for themselves as they navigate through the complexities of communication and life. Which is why in the department, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is being practiced to not only hone the academic success of the students but to also foster life skills that can help students overcome more than just academic hurdles, but also real-life obstacles.

๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐ญโ“
โœ…Self-awareness - help students know how to handle their stress response.
โœ…Self-management - students can learn techniques (e.g. deep breathing & positive self-talk) that will help them regulate their emotions.
โœ…Social awareness - students can navigate through a variety of social dynamics that can be found in college, allowing them to create healthy social relationships and boundaries.
โœ…Relationship skills - students can foster better relationships with their support networks, which can help them through hard times.
โœ…Responsible decision-making - students can learn to make responsible choices that will lead them to engaging in behavior that is less likely to increase their stress.

Last June 13, 2026, the Department of Speech-Language Pathology successfully launched its first Program T.A.M.B.A.G. (Transforming Active Members of the Barangays in Achieving Growth)

An SLP Faculty-Led Community Initiative, providing FREE screening, objective hearing tests, therapy, and caregiver and family education for children and adults with cleft lip and/or palate.

It was a meaningful day filled with learning, service, collaboration, and smiles as we worked together to support individuals and families in our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, Smile Train, Rotary Club of Cebu, and CDU SLP Cares Clinic, for helping make this initiative possible. Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and faculty members who dedicated their time and effort to this event.

Together, we continue to advocate for accessible, compassionate, and quality speech-language pathology services for all. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก
