The third week of October is officially recognized as Mechanical Engineering Week in the Philippines through Proclamation No. 319, signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino on September 5, 1988. This annual celebration honors the significant contributions of mechanical engineers to national development, technological advancement, and industrial growth.

This Mechanical Engineering Week, the Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers โ€“ University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (JPSMEโ€“UCLM) Chapter proudly joins the celebration in recognizing the passion, creativity, and dedication of mechanical engineers and aspiring future professionals. From developing innovative machines to creating practical solutions for real-world challenges, mechanical engineers continue to play an essential role in shaping a progressive and sustainable future.

We spend so much time studying hard, chasing deadlines, and carrying heavy stress, but we often forget to check on ourselves. Between sleepless nights finishing school projects, endless requirements, and the quiet pressure to always do well, it is so easy to feel overwhelmed.

Some days go smoothly, and other days feel way too heavyโ€”and that is completely okay. You do not have to carry everything in silence, and you do not have to be perfect all the time just to deserve rest and understanding.

This ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜†, remember that taking a pause is not quitting; it is a normal and necessary way to take care of yourself. Our classrooms, study areas, and organizations should always be safe spaces where it is okay to talk about our struggles, ask for help, and remind each other that we are worth more than just our grades.

May you find comfort in small breaks, strength in your friends, and the reminder that it is okay to slow down. After all, even the strongest materials need care so they don't break under too much pressure. ๐Ÿค

The Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (JPSME) โ€“ UCLM Chapter was represented at the Inaugural Rites of the University of Cebu Council of Presidents โ€“ Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCCP-LM), held on September 30, 2026, at the NSA Covered Court, in coordination with the Student Affairs Office (SAO).
