Consistent with the mission of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, the College of Computer and Information Sciences commits to the achievement of the following goals:

• Provide quality IT education relevant and responsive to the changing needs of the industry and society;
• Develop innovative programs focusing on ubiquitous computing environment as an alternative to cost

The Department of Information Technology commits that after graduation from the program, our student will be able to:

• Hold progressively responsible positions as IT leaders and/or pursue advanced degree;
• Solve computing problems and engage in life-long learning and professional growth; and
• Work effectively with others, demonstrating ethical behaviour as an IT professional and sensitivity to the impact of technology in the society. BSCS OBJECTIVES

The Department of Computer Science commits that after graduation from the program, our student will be able to:

• Achieve the theoretical, practical, and professional knowledge to be immediately productive upon entering the workforce or advanced study;
• Develop conceptual knowledge and contribute to the scientific, mathematical, and theoretical foundation on which technologies are built;
• Acquaint with the emerging technologies and evaluate and utilize currently available software development tools;
• Apply learned concepts, principle, and practices, showing judgment in the selection, design, and application of tools and techniques;
• Enhance skills and embrace new technologies through life-long professional development; and
• Recognize and be guided by social, professional, and ethical standards involved in the use of computing technologies.

With heavy hearts, the whole CCIS community mourns the passing of Fernando Belarmino, a valued member of our faculty.

Sir Fernando (or Ferdie) was more than an educator. He was a mentor, a guide, and an inspiration to countless students and colleagues. His dedication to teaching and his commitment to shaping future professionals will always be remembered.

Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the knowledge he shared.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Sir Ferdie. You will always remain in our hearts. 🙏❤️

This orientation is your very first step to knowing your College, your Program, our culture, and the essential academic guidelines you need to succeed here in CCIS.

The entire CCIS community deeply mourns the passing of our beloved faculty member, Assoc. Prof. Michael B. Dela Fuente, who served as the current Laboratory Head of the College and Chief of the Knowledge Management Section of IQMO. His dedication and unwavering commitment to our Sintang Paaralan will always be remembered.

He had also served the institution as former Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and as former President of the CCIS Faculty Club, leaving behind a legacy of service and leadership.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this time of grief.

May his soul find eternal peace.

Please be informed that the qualifying examinations for transferees and shiftees for BSCS and BSIT programs will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the CCIS Laboratory Room (5th Floor, South Wing).

Requirements:
1. Incoming Second Year (must have completed at least 2 semesters).
2. Must have no failing grade, dropped, incomplete, and withdrawn mark in any subject.
3. Must have a weighted average of 2.0 or better.
