📢 NOTICE OF NEW PUBLICATION ‼️

Congratulations to French Tsocheff A. Festin, a Cum Laude graduate of the BS Applied Physics program, on this remarkable achievement in astronomical research!

His research on Brown Dwarfs was published in the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (PASP) in August, co-authored with Prof. Tomotsugu Goto of National Tsing Hua University.

This publication highlights the valuable research experience French gained during his undergraduate internship at National Tsing Hua University, where Prof. Goto served as his supervisor and co-author.

We are proud to celebrate this achievement and commend him for demonstrating excellence in research. 🌟🔭

📢 PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT NOTICE

We are pleased to recognize Assoc. Prof. Arturo J. Patungan Jr. LPT, Ph.D. for his participation as one of the distinguished speakers and panelists at Teach Forward Manila, organized by D2L last September 14, 2026, at Makati Shangri-La, Manila.

The event brought together educators, academic leaders, technology practitioners, and experts in higher education to discuss emerging developments and challenges in Philippine education, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, micro-credentials, and hybrid learning.

Assoc. Prof. Patungan participated in the panel discussion entitled “Teaching in the Age of AI: Reclaiming Pedagogy, Judgment, and Trust.” The session explored how educators can preserve professional and pedagogical judgment, redesign assessment to make student learning visible, and foster responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence in education.

📢 PUBLICATION NOTICE

We are pleased to share the publication of the research entitled “Emergence of Unique Steady Edge States in Trapped Ultracold Atom Systems,” published in Annals of Physics in 2026.

The study was authored by Dr. Roland Christopher F. Caballar, Ph.D. The research investigates a one-dimensional open quantum system of ultracold atoms trapped in an array of harmonic potentials and weakly coupled to a background Bose–Einstein Condensate (BEC).

This work contributes to the study of open quantum systems, ultracold atoms, dissipative quantum processes, and topological quantum systems, providing insights into how driven and dissipative dynamics can give rise to distinctive steady states in quantum matter.
