UST Civil Engineering Faculty Honored with Cardinal Ceferino Gonzales Award

The UST Department of Civil Engineering proudly congratulates Asst. Prof. Ryan A. Ramirez, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Shikara P. Jose, MSc, on receiving the Cardinal Ceferino Gonzales Award for Indexed Publications for Academic Year 2024–2025.

A study investigating the sturdiness and physical properties of Bambusa blumeana growing in Batangas and Dumaguete, Philippines, was published in Advances in Science, Technology & Innovation (ASTI), a journal published by Springer Nature.

The paper, titled “Comparative Analysis of Shear Strength of Bambusa Blumeana from Batangas and Dumaguete”, was penned by BS Civil Engineering alumni Kurt Barrameda, Maria Meleeza Marquez, Herson Hans Villafaña, and Orven Jasper Viteño.

Their research advisers were UST Faculty of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering academic staff Asst. Prof. Shikara P. Jose, MSc, and Engr. Carlo Joseph Cacanando.
